Oh, this is damn EXCELLENT news. I wanted this more than the cloud streaming. Xbox gaming on my 12.9” iPad Pro in bed.

But how utterly backward of Apple, that they allow one and not the other.

Not really much they can do about it, though. You still need a second device to do remote streaming, with the first only acting as a monitor that's outputting the image. Same as iOS or Google or Amazon or plenty of other things doing so from a mobile device to a TV. With Game Pass and xCloud, they specifically took issue with the fact they would recieve none of the revenue from Microsoft putting their games on the Apple store through just one app (even though the likes of Netflix and Disney+ are also the same).

They're perfectly visible on Xbox? They even still have the monthly leaderboard. I don't think they would move away from Achievements as it has a very large community, they've already had massive kickback over the app.
