Xbox is on the up, but is by no means perfect.

As good as Xbox has been doing lately, things could always be better, right? Recently, I asked on Twitter what Xbox fans' biggest concerns were currently about the Xbox platform, and solicited over 1,000 replies with user feedback. Over the Christmas break, I sat down and analyzed each bit of feedback based on various categories. If a feedback item appeared only once, I added it to an "other" column. The vast majority of complaints did, in fact, appear multiple times, and the range of feedback was quite broad.

For those of you with the Xbox Elite 2 controller, how does d-pad compare to that on the standard Xbox Series X controller? The clicking is getting on my nerves, and I have a voucher from work that would make the cost of one palatable.

Aside from that, is it worth almost three times the price of the standard controller? I would be particularly interested in the paddles in terms of how do they perform, and if they are useful or a bit of a novelty that wears off? I'd be particularly interested in how they perform in FPSs as I'm having difficulty adapting back to a controller from a KB&M.

Buy the Series S on its own, then buy 12 month Gold and roll back £1 per month (£12 for 12 months) for GamePass? Am I right about this?

Or Xbox Series S with Ultimate Pass bundle to start with?

It's £1 total, not per month. This will upgrade all your Gold membership into Game Pass Ultimate, assuming you haven't done this before. Obviously this is the best route, would recommend you go for the maximum 36 months if you can afford it.

If you haven’t done the £1 upgrade of your gold to ultimate this is the best way. £121 (£40x3 years + £1 upgrade). I actually bought 2.5 years. Then when you add each code it asks to turn on recurring billing so you get a free month. You turn it off again, add another code…. Means you get 2 years 9 months for £40+£40+£20+£1.

You can sometimes get gold cheaper, at £35.

Friend enjoying Dead Cells along with me and decided to buy the 3 DLCs, not realising it was already on the PS4 in the living room. No biggie, really, but it was still £9 that didn't need spending. But then I remembered about MS's returns policy. But we'd already played one of the DLC and got an achievement unlocked Tried it anyway. <5mins later they'd got their money back. *golf clap* MS.

Buying an S and using this trick has to be one of the best value options in the history of gaming.

It's seriously insane value for 3 years of gaming from all the Microsoft studios and the other random stuff on GamePass.

Make sure you have your Xbox account/gamertag sorted, sign in on console or webpage, either is fine, enter the codes in redeem code section and you're sorted.
