I thought V-Rally 4 was really good...apart from the extremely repetitive menu music. The first car you drive isn’t the best introduction to the handling either, which otherwise is generally very enjoyable and less taxing than the current DiRT Rally games which, coupled with the tracks, require considerable amounts of concentration at all times.

If you liked any of the V-Rally or Colin McRae games on PS1 and 2 you’ll have a great time with V-Rally 4.

. My favourite podcast. Bob’s John Cooper Clarke in the latest episode is amazing

As for the games, I’ve heard good things about V-Rally 4 so I’m happy.

If you’re on their Patreon, he does another poem in the latest Parsnips podcast. And Casper sings, and it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.

EDIT: They’ve decided it’s such a good episode, they’re going to release it to the public as Mince 104 - out now!

I wish I could download the 360 games on my 1X, but for some reason all my account info is US listed so I can’t register a card. Has anyone had this? All my region settings are UK. If I try and make something up or change it it just says something went wrong. Tried customer service who said it would be ok in 48hrs but no luck.

Oh cool, Day of the Tentacle is a game I’ve always wanted to play so that’s good news.

Crazy Taxi and Daytona USA are both £1.68 (X360 games but BC on XBO) you need to purchase them on the website tho and through Google Chrome (I tried using Safari and it just kept getting stuck on the spinning green circle)

I think my Xbox may have the same issue with remembering things as I do.
I'm having to do system updates multiple times a week. I updated it yesterday and now have to update it again and it takes well over 10 minutes every time.
I have a launch One X so does anyone else with that machine have the same issue?

My (original version) XB1 started to do that, and I eventually realised that it was because the power supply was failing. Each day when I switched it on, because the power had failed at some point during the night, it wanted to do some sort of restorative update. I know it’s anathema to you, but maybe try leaving the power on and see if the problem goes away.

Bugger.
I just hope it survives until I get the Series X.
It does also sometimes just turn itself off during the starting splash screen and then restart so yeah, a power supply problem sounds about right.

You can get fairly cheap unofficial replacements. They’re far from silent (noticeable, but nothing too horrendous), and I wouldn’t trust it to leave it plugged in at night, but that’s not an issue for you anyway!

EDIT: They seem to be around £30 now, but they were only £20 last year.
EDIT 2: Ignore that, just realised you said 1X.

I think I'm just going to have to live with it taking a while to start for now until I upgrade.
I don't use it massively and am never in such a hurry that it's going to be a problem it's just a bit rubbish.

Thanks for the confirmation of the problem though :D .

Does the Xbox ability to suspend and resume games actually work for anybody?

Very rarely I can turn off the console via the controller and when I turn it back on can resume my game where I left off. 99% of the time though it has quit the game and I have to start it up from scratch again.

Sometimes it does. Some games just refused to do it.

I can't even get consistent results in the same game.

Usually works for me. The only time it’s a problem is when the game expects constant online connection. Then I usually find it’s booted me back to the main menu.

The Lego Ninjago game is free for today only.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/the-l ... kknpkx1c4p

It's also on Game Pass, so make sure you click the buy a copy button instead of just 'install'.

Great! Just added it to my collection. It can be the next game on the LEGO marathon.
