I am about as far from a console fanboy as you can get (although I will die on the hill to my opinion that the Master System was far superior to the NES) but is anyone else finding it strangely satisfying that the majority of high quality system exclusives for the latter half of the year are predominately Xbox titles?

The TGS Xbox stream starts at 10am, expect very little.

Some stuff seems to have leaked early like Cloud being turned on in Japan and this coming to Steam Early access and Xbox Game Preview for XSS|S later this year.

Because Microsoft have been a bit gooseberry fool for a few years I guess. Competition is good.

If their new studios come out swinging then it could be a regular occurrence. Long may it continue.

strawberry floating hell. Is there any way of stopping the Xbox from automatically trying to "upgrade" Series X games? I've copied Fallen Order onto my external hard drive because I've stopped playing it, but just in case I want to go back to it I don't want to have to download 50gb of game for a bit of a muck about in space. But my Xbox keeps *stopping* the download I've got in progress to try and "upgrade" Fallen Order back onto the Internal drive. And it's like... If something is saved on the external drive, that's where it should stay? :x It keeps strawberry floating up the Avengers install because then it won't resume once it's been interrupted (presumably because now the Xbox thinks that the space it was going to install part of the Avengers is now meant to be for Fallen Order :x ).

EDIT: Just ended up totally uninstalling Fallen Order for now. For some reason the Xbox had installed it on both the External and Internal drive, so I think maybe it had only updated one version before, so the game on the external was the old version, which it just couldn't allow. Who's idea was it to let the auto-updates it finds for games interrupt the downloads you've started yourself? Surely it should understand that what *you* want to install takes priority?

I’ve never experienced any of that, and I’ve got about ten Series X games “archived” to an external drive.

Free FIFA when you buy a Series S is a canny move from MS.

This is always my problem. No-one's xbox ever behaves like mine  I still don't think I've seen anyone else with the "console doesn't differentiate between short and long presses of the share button" issue that mine still has :fp:

It was on overnight downloading. Turn it on this morning and it's got 122gb of 125. While I'm looking at the download queue (literally just the Avengers), it decides to start updating the store, which, again, interrupts the download. When it tries to start again it goes back to zero :dread: I think no matter how good the game is now I'm going to hate it because of the faff I've had even trying to install it!

Oh yeah, I’d forgotten your history of technical issues! Can’t remember the details but you’ve had a few, haven’t you?!

You could turn off automatic updates. That ought to stop the interruptions.

Yeah I reckon that's probably the safest way of ensuring it downloads it all without any silly interruptions  Just need to remember to turn it back on afterwards!

I found the issue with games that have had a Series X/S update post installing the standard Xbox version was that rather than updating the standard version of the game to the Series X/S version it’d just download it as a new game on the internal drive, so I still had the old version on my external HDD. I ended up letting the newer version install on the internal drive, then delete the old version on the external before moving the updated version back across, bit of a faff really!

Anyone still finding the Xbox OS a bit buggy? Like I’m still finding I have to view all games/recently added on Game Pass rather than just opening the app as it just goes to a black screen, if I’ve opened another app from the bottom of the home screen (just tried it with Film and TV and it’s done the same) likewise other times (although less often) when I’m trying to close a game (if I’m not fussed about QR) it goes to a black screen too which is solved via pressing the Xbox button on the controller and hitting home but I’ve not seen anyone else mention anything about this.

wtf I've just attempted to install Avengers on a *different* Xbox, and it does the same thing! (Like.. it'll download a couple of gb, but then the installation just... stops. And resuming it just makes it start again  ) This is so weird. I'll never get to play it at this rate.

EDIT: Going to copy as much as I can onto an external drive, and then reset the console completely (so, getting rid of all the installed games and apps on the internal drive too), and then see if it'll install onto a clean Xbox. Such a faff for one game  Only nabbing it for the co-op...

Finally managed to get Avengers installed! Didn't need to reset the console in the end, I just copied as much as I could onto the external drive and for some reason it managed to install properly once there was about 700GB free on the internal :? Better be worth it now :slol:

I tried installing some games yesterday and I thought I may as well try Avengers and while downloading it would skip to the top and the other downloads would stop and when restarted they would start from 0% again. Same issue as Frank. It's odd.

Just started downloading Prey for the GRplayde and it’s doing the same for me, getting up to 30Mb, stopping the installation and then starting from scratch again. Loads of space on the internal HDD as I’ve only got 2 games on there (AC Ezio Trilogy and F1 2021). Slightly odd.

I had the same issue trying to install Hitman Blood Money yesterday, but it worked fine this morning. Really weird.
