It's on Game Pass if that's something that interests you.

Considering these guys are most likely using hardware way, way above next gen standard I think it's safe to assume 8K gaming on next gen is really not going to happen. Maybe for a next gen mid gen refresh but even then I'd question whether it's worth the loss in fps and all the other downsides to get 8K rather than have super awesome looking 4K with extra bells and whistles.

Really enjoying the Games with Gold this month. Played about with the Gold and NHL games, haven't even tried Portal yet but remember hearing good things when it first came out!

Picked up an Xbox One S All Digital Edition in the E3 sale, bundled with Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves and some Live Gold from Currys on eBay for roughly £152 thanks to the 10% off eBay discount code today :D

Personally, I think HDR is a much better leap in quality than playing 1080 games on a 1080 TV compared to 4k on a 4k TV.

Does anyone know how to unsubscribe to Mixer emails? Ever since I watched the E3 press conference they now keep emailing me, and there’s no link at the top or bottom.

Just had a thought about back compatibility. If they’re not adding any more 360 titles (for now, at least), that means all future Games With Gold 360 games will come from a dwindling list. Or will be Arcade titles. Or repeats. Or they’ll stop giving out 360 games altogether.

You mean the leap from 1080 to HDR is more impressive than the leap from 1080 res to 4K res? Yes, that's what I hear too. I don't know when it'll happen, but I already have a game picked out as my intro to HDR. (God of War, 2018.)

So im thinking about buying some cheap Live membership on CDkeys and then consolidating it with my existing Game Pass sub to give me approx 24 months of ultimate (for £1). As far as i can tell there is only one catch - you cannot drop down from the ultimate tier. I guess this means that if i buy any game pass credit etc using rewards, it will be scaled to down to approx 2/3 its duration? If so, that makes it seem like less of a "no brainer" than everyone declares it as being. Or am i missing something here?
Do we know how long the Ultimate conversion for £1 is going to be on offer for? I never really play games online, and the Games with Gold are almost never as enticing as the Game Pass offerings, so am not sure if i should "jump in" with this offer or not....

It really depends on your size screen. 4K is only worth it if you're going big. HDR benefits all screen sizes.

Well even if you don't play online, 24 months of Xbox Live is cheaper than 24 months of Game Pass, and you get both when you upgrade. So it certainly makes sense from a financial standpoint even if you never use the Gold.

And you can't downgrade your existing sub, but you can let it expire and then sign up for just Game Pass again. At least, I'm pretty sure that's an option.

Cheers.

They send their emails out almost daily (more than their Xbox branded ones, which I actually wouldn't mind).

The rewards scheme as it stands means that i get free Game Pass for ever by using reward points. The 12 month "buffer" i have now means that even with the 5 months or so it takes to get an addition 3 months, it will be about 5 years before i have to actually pay again. This is dependent upon them not increasing the points of game pass (which i think they may have done already in the US), and the special offers still dropping on a semi regular basis.
