Why have they taken the option to buy a game out of the Xbox App? All I have now is 'Install On Xbox One' which installs the game but still requires purchasing when you want to play it. It's ridiculous.

Still got the Buy option on mine (iOS).

This is what I'm getting. Is it different for anyone else? I'm on Android.

Maybe the nerf for the iOS version is still going through Apple’s bureaucracy. Seems like a weird thing to do. You could buy via the website, I guess.

It’s so you can download it and patch it in advance of getting a physical copy. It’s a good feature for people who have friends coming over with a copy of a game you don’t own, or youve preordered a physical copy (especially with the launch of the new consoles), renting etc

I imagine it’s also useful when you know something is coming to game pass soon or it’s becoming free to play for a short period of time. You can get it downloaded and ready to play in advance.

Yeah I get it's a useful feature, but I don't see why you can't also purchase the game from the app. It's weird.

I thought Microsoft owned them anyway with it being Microsoft Flight Simulator?

Maybe another Series X GamePass Launch Title?

Ah i thought it had already launched for Xbox One but looking on the net it's still 'coming at a later date', so yeah probably not a launch title.

Like most updates this one has killed my Xbox so it doesn’t look like I’ll be doing any gaming tonight while I leave it on in the background to index the hard drive for days

The Series X can’t come quick enough

Also when you press the Xbox button to bring up the guide, is that meant to populate with previously opened games and apps or is it really meant to be a giant unused space?

I updated my OG Xbox One (for my daughter) and One X. It seems to be quicker on both but most updates are at the start, although it never got that slow in the past couple of years on One X anyway. Bido, like, it's possible your Xbox is borked? I presume I'm not the only person who owns an Xbox that doesn't take 'days to index the hard drive'.

Mine is awful at loading the update list but apart from that it seems to work alright. Is it an external hard drive it's indexing or is everything saved internally? Guess an external hard drive would be a bit easier to troubleshoot

All those separate rock band tracks clogging it up :(

I hot swap my external HDD drives at back all the time as I move stuff to my external SSD, especially when I first got it so I could check load times etc. I would note that after copying in and out games on the external drives the Xbox would get choppy so I'd restart it. I haven't messed much with the new dashboard but the only big improvement I noticed was the speed of the OG Xbox using it. My OG Xbox is hooked up to a monitor on a desk in corner of living room. My daughter uses it, it's handy as if we play Sea of Thieves and stuff together we don't need headsets cos we in same room. She has an external 1TB and I was surprised how fast it worked because the OG Xbox has been slow for a while now.
