That deal on the Xbox Series X console for £342 at Amazon seems to be proving popular. Although Xbox hardware sales appear to have slipped this year it feels like MS is really going in hard on pricing now. I doubt that Sony can compete with these kinds of discounts.

There are reports that Xbox may skip the mid gen refresh and bring forward the full next gen instead.
I wonder how much performance they can gain from a complete change in hardware rather than just an update to this gen?

They will certainly be able to make more use of the new AI and image improvement tech stuff that I don't understand at all.

It would also be nice to see some actual difference between machines again.

Rumour is it is indeed an AI lead console.

What’s Microsoft’s current stance on releasing their games on Steam, is it just all new games going forward or have they said they’ll add older games to the service as well? Stuff like Rare Replay, Halo Wars 2 and Fable 2/3 would be nice to have.

Looks like they've changed up the game pass quests again. And, surprisingly, they've actually made them a little better. The weekly quests for playing a certain game are gone. And there are two monthly quests, one for 500 points and one for 1,000. So, we now have

Daily Quest
Play a game 3pts
Get an achievement in a Game Pass game 5pts

Weekly
Complete 3 daily quests 20pts
Unlock 3 achievements or play 3 games 20pts

Monthly
Play 4 games 25pts
Complete 12 daily and 4 weekly 100pts
Complete 22 daily and 6 weekly 500pts
Complete 45 daily and 8 weekly 1000pts

Better than it was, but the problem will be completing 45 dailies. The measly 5pts for an achievement in a Game Pass game isn’t worth any extra effort, but you’ll need at least 14 of them for the 1000-pointer. I’m not going out of my way to try to get that every month. If I happen to, great.

Also, the weekly streak is still going for now. I need this week’s to get 2500 points, but thought they might cut them off with the new year.

My points have been racking up now I'm in the 2500 streak zone again, and I'm currently at £55 worth.

For some reason I never get points for performing Bing searches anymore. PC and mobile. I keep hearing about cooldowns etc, but I don't get any, ever.

It works if I switch to my work account (points tally up with each search performed), but as soon as I switch back to the account linked to my Xbox is simply wont work.

Anybody heard about this issue before? It started about 2 months ago (had been fine for the previous 4 years).

I'm on for the 2500 in 2 weeks time, so hope they keep it going until then at least.

As spotted by GyoJvbfr and XboxSquad.fr (thanks, Windows Central), it looks as though the toaster is set to release later this year, but is currently available to pre-order for residents of France and Belgium.

Reportedly a fully-licensed product - albeit one neither Xbox nor Microsoft has officially announced as yet - the toaster will allegedly set you back a chunky £53/€60 (excluding delivery) and features two bread slots, 1-6 browning settings, anti-jam function, and anti-slip feet. Oh, and it looks just like a Series S, of course.

Other merchandise rumoured to be on the way includes storage boxes, a pen holder, a tool box, mouse pads, and a range of kitchenware, including crockery, ramen bowls, and bottle openers.

If true, there's also a very snazzy 14-inch Halo Energy Sword lamp on the way, too… but it also may all be a very elaborate - if a tad early - April Fools joke. Guess we'll find out eventually, eh?

Best thing since sliced bread or a crummy idea?

The Xbox Series S Toaster is now ready to rock your breakfast table! It costs $39.99 and is available at Walmart in the US.

"Meet the Xbox Series S Toaster. This appliance will take your kitchen countertop to the next level. The shade selector dial lets you toast your bread, English muffins, frozen waffles, and bagels exactly how you like them every time, anywhere from lightly toasted to dark. Multiple family members or roommates? Keep a list of everyone's settings to score the group breakfast bonus.

The countdown timer lets you know how much longer until your toast pops up. No more breakfast-induced jump scares or trying to spread butter on bread that's already gone cold because you were trying to find a good save point. But wait—here’s more. It imprints the Xbox sphere logo on your bread while it’s heating it. It's the next generation toasting console. Get yours today."
