In other words, I was sort of right. Whatever coding remains from the original version that needed the One to remain online otherwise it's a no-go is probably what's being talked about.

Yes. I choose my gamer tag in the early days, and I guess all three character tags are taken now, or youre not allowed to have three.

New to Xbox one and having an issue with resuming suspended games when turning the Xbox One X back on - I get a message saying something about user account being swapped and live not being accessible (although it is). I then get booted back to the main game menu (game in question is D4). Not sure if this applies to other games. The game does not fully exit to be clear, it's kind of equivilant to selecting a "quit to main menu" option in a game. Kind of annoying as it's a long load time from the main menu.

Is this a common issue? Game specific?

Do you have 'instant on' mode set up on your Xbox One or are you turning it fully off?

Some games are a bit prone to glitching out when doing the automatic resume, but they're usually the online multiplayer type titles. Not sure why D4 should cause a problem.

Instant on is...on. Will try a different game and see if the same issue occurs there. Bit of a shame as I love the resume feature on my PS4 and it has never gone wrong for me in 3 years. Have also done a full power cycle.

I’m not sure it’s an actual feature of Xbox. I have never been able to get it to work.

Same for downloading in sleep mode. Whenever I have tried instant on and turn the console off my Xbox doesn’t continue downloading

I found it only really works if you use ethernet and not WiFi.

Well downloading while in standby definitely works, when I had my hard drive fail I often left tens of games downloading while I went to bed, and when I woke up they would all be installed.
