Oh, Photek! My post wasn't a dig specifically at Microsoft; I'm frustrated by all of the console manufacturers increasing their online charges! It seems reasonable to assume that not many gamers - certainly in the mass market - will pay circa £130 a year to take a PS4, XBO and Switch online.

I also get live from CDkeys. I did with PS+, but I THINK it went up in price there too.

Like I said, if the price is increased due to various things then it's not TOO BAD, but Sony were dicks and decide to up the price and then remove PS3 and Vita games from the deal.

I'd be great if the did a pay a I dunno £100 a year deal and you get live and Gamepass.

There are a lot of great PS4 games so for the most part, people who have played them will vote across a fairly large range. XBO and Nintendo only owners will clearly not vote for them.

I'd imagine that means "our main competitor is charging more and so we want a slice of that pie, too". I *really* dislike this "online subs" thing; prices start out reasonable but, over time, prices rise and features drop. I used to be a multi-format gamer but there's no way I'm gonna pay out subs to each of Sony, MS and Nintendo.

Sony raised prices worldwide. This is a UK only price increase.

The “changing market conditions” must be something specific to the UK.

For those who don’t want a year-round subscription, Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Passes are free via Microsoft/Xbox/Bing Rewards. I’m currently saving up for 3 months of Game Pass, which is easily done if you have the Bing app and are on their email mailing list.

It seems quite tough to post in this thread without someone thinking that Microsoft is being "got at"; I've had it twice recently with no real reason behind it. I received plenty of stick in past months when some folk felt I "wouldn't let criticism take place" in other threads and yet in this thread it seems okay to instantly rage against even the mildest of perceived criticism. It makes me wary of posting here, tbh.
