Yeah but you are just an Atari Jaguar fanboy child and only post to hate on CD Keys. Why do you hate CD Keys so much you monster?

I've read back twice now and still confused why offence was taken. Seems like an overreaction to me.

If people are not happy with peoples posts please always report and we can then deal with the situation. Last thing we want is people not wanting to post. :D

Yeah, my last line was indeed a silly overreaction; I meant just in this thread - I'm not gonna let one minor thing like that stop me from posting in GR as a whole :) .

Re-reading my two posts and Photek's responses, I still don't see how he perceived me as instigating "console wars". I implied that MS were following a competitor in hiking up the online subs charge; and I said that I disliked any platform owner raising these costs (naming Sony, MS and Nintendo). I feel that these rising costs will cause some multi-format gaming folk to re-think; but as this thought is not specific to MS, I'll take it to another thread.

I played some Borderlands 2 after update and can't say I noticed MUCH difference, I mean it was cleaner obviously but the textures didn't appear much better than before...

It's odd how some games are transformative in 4K and others not. Halo MCC, FF XIII, Sea of Thieves and PUBG are massively improved on X.

Think rinks was just joking re: subject, jawafour.

Does this mean BL handsome collection has discount on too? Wasn't sure if these games also come with discount if people want to keep said games.

Rumours

A saving of $5 on a monthly sub of both.

Resetera Admin -

This isn't the only tier MS plans to introduce.

Just MS wants to make subscription services more important moving forward. So a lot of the new things coming from MS will be tied to subscriptions.

Yeah, could see this coming - console manufacturers are leaning more towards their monopolised storefronts being the sole channel for accessing games, and introducing subscriptions is a way of gaining a regular stream of income. They don't want customers picking and choosing as to when they buy games; they want a solid £XX each month model, pretty much in line with how TV and music broadcasters (i.e. Sky, Virgin, BT, Netflix, Amazon, Spotify etc) operate. Games will be far more controlled in terms of what can be accessed, when and for how much.

I know that sounds super-negative but it seems to be how things are heading!

Just for clarity - I think all platforms are going down this route, not just Microsoft.

That's not quite as cheap as I was expecting, though I'm sure there will be offers. For example on the German Microsoft site, an Xbox One S 1TB with game/s/or game pass is €245. You're not saving much by being locked to digital (and losing the 4K playback).

Keep on posting Jawa! Much of my fondness for the Wii U is derived from the community spirit drummed up in no small part by yourself. Bring the fun times to Xbox :D

The XB1s 1TB edition current RRP is €299 (€349 at launch) so €70's off if the rumoured price is true.

Haha, thanks, hamm! I wrote that after a bit of frustration but it's water well under the bridge now :-).

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised at the pricing, too. If it is €230, then that's around £200 and, as you say, considering the console is losing the 4K Blu-ray drive that doesn't seem to be that great a price reduction. On Amazon you can pick up an Xbox One S (with the same 1TB HDD and, of course, the 4K drive) right now for £189.

It's great to see different options but, in this case, I feel the price should maybe be a bit cheaper. We'll see for sure once it is officially available :-) .

Sony made a similar mistake with the digital only PSP if I remember, along with the memory cards.

Agreed, the no disc version needs to be MUCH cheaper.

April Dashboard Update rolling out -

OS version - 10.0.18362.2018 (19h1_release_xbox_dev_1904.190410-1845)

Release date

4/16/2019

Console restart

We heard you! There’s now an option to fully restart the console on the power center screen (press and hold the Xbox button on your controller).

Streamlined quests

Now you can get to Game Pass quests directly from the Game Pass hub on Home as well as from your profile. Just select Game Pass, then scroll down and select Quests – Show All.

Console keyboard improvements

We’ve updated the virtual keyboard on the console so that it takes up less space on the screen and can position itself smartly around text fields.

Easier uninstall

Want to install something new but faced with a full hard drive? Now, instead of first having to go choose what to remove, we suggest items for removal that will free up enough space on your hard drive. And here’s the kicker – when that’s done we automatically start installing your new game or app!

Xbox One Media Remote shortcut

The Xbox One Media Remote has been updated to let you reprogram the OneGuide button to launch a media app instead of OneGuide. This is a great shortcut to jump into your favorite media app and start watching.
