Did you enable the extended timer option? 10 seconds should not be impossible with that option checked (me and a mate tried it yesterday where he had delay and i did not).

Did some more investigating, and it seems that the mixer app has a low latency option which is unchecked by default. I wasn't using the app last night, but maybe if i do (with this checked) it will be better.....

I assume that there is a similar option on laptops and desktop pc's (i cant check this as site is blocked at work and i don't have a functioning PC at home).

I had no idea that was a thing :slol: I don't usually get to host it, since my brother's bought more Jackbox games on his console than I have. We were trying to do You Don't Know Jack and most of the scoring in that is based on who answers quickest (especially the final round!), so we were all getting shafted.

Good idea to stream the console on another machine though so everyone's got a reasonably level playing field. I'd never even thought about that

It came to me in a Eureka! moment at about 3am last night :slol:

You need to switch your console to the US to download.

Installed Knights of Pen and Paper bundle, and both games downloaded. Only they won’t start, because it doesn’t recognise the licence for the individual games. *slow handclap*

kazanova_Frankenstein wrote:So i tried streaming from my 1X using Mixer last night (first time, im hoping to play some Jackbox 3 with friends online). I noticed a 7-8 second delay between the 1X and the stream on my mobile. Is this normal? I keep reading about how Mixer has super low latency and less delay than rival services. Connection quality was good and not choppy etc, so i don't think it was an infrastructure issue.

If this is normal then no problem - i will just play watching the stream as well (i think i can get to mixer website on my TV), but it would be nice if there was one less hoop for me to jump through (i'm already going to be doing all the tech assistance on my friends mobiles etc).

Mixer, if using FTL has miniscule delay, though I do find phone apps gooseberry fool.

Take streaming to Twitch, it's got more delay than Mixer, but it's for me usually 2-4 seconds. Grum watches my stream in the mobile app and it's 30+ seconds delay.

If you be watching Mixer use the Xbox or a PC.

I recently did a Jackbox session via Mixer and it worked fantastically. Would recommend.

Thanks for the split opinion guys!

I did some testing last night, and, with the FTL setting option enabled in the mobile app it was near instantaneous - similar to Vita remote play!
What i do not know is whether the Low Latency / FTL option is available on laptop / PC if you are not a registered user? I dont have a PC at home so cant test. Maybe one of you kind folk could confirm? My friends wont be arsed with creating an account and signing in to a game streaming service.
I'm guessing you can, because i was able to toggle the setting (somewhat) successfully using by LG TV's built in browser (which was impressive). I know the mobile chrome browser does not allow the option however (it is grayed out).

I was playing with my parents and non-gaming brothers they have no idea about such things. To be fair I was playing Drawful and Fibbage, so any lag would probably not have been as relevant.

Ah ok. What i'm trying to avoid is half of us seeing the answer 10 seconds before the others, as it will spoil the joined up feeling i'm going for. I guess if i just watch the feed rather than the native Xbox output i will be in the same boat as all the others if i don't even tell them about enabling low latency mode.
Not sure if that will be getting a bit of a strain on my bandwith (mixer upload, mixer stream, houseparty app and whatever the wife is watching on netflix).

Toy box Turbos showing up as free for me While Blinx is listed at £8.99. Not sure why but I’ll take that

Just put Xbox.com on and something came up saying Return in 2 Days with a glitchy effect. Is there a reveal of some sort coming?

That'd be about right for a reveal on a website. Doubt it'd be something huge like an exclusive never-before-seen game.

Yeah, seems that the Blinx announcement was a mistake. Maybe it’s an indication that it’s coming later. Can’t believe they’d just say it for no reason.

Received a message from Microsoft on the dash saying “Blink will not be included in April’s Games with Gold offerings. The line-up will be updated with Toybox Turbos. We’re sorry for the confusion this may have caused.”

Minor April Dashboard update out now.

My Games & Apps Update

We’ve added a new “Surprise me!” button to your games. When you’re not sure what to play next, “Surprise me!” suggests a random game in your library that matches your filter criteria.
The button is located in the upper-right corner of My games & apps and can also be found by pressing the Menu button on your controller when highlighting the title of a group.

Still more Mixer viewing improvements

We’re not done! Now you can see emotes and subscriber badges in chat, while your Ember messages also get the flare they deserve, with special styling to help them stand out.
We’ve also made it easier to access stream settings with just one press of the Menu button on your controller.

It patched for me yesterday - now I can use the pad to eject a disc! 5 or so years late, but better late than never.

I wish they'd strawberry floating stop with the dashboard updates.
Just have 2 or 3 big updates a year and then sod off. I honestly don't give a monkeys if the font is 3.4 nanometres smaller or the icons are moved 2 inches to the left.
The dashboard is fine now so just leave it alone.
