A New Microsoft Store Experience is Coming to Xbox Insiders

Summary

Introducing the new Microsoft Store on Xbox
A completely rebuilt experience designed to be faster, safer and easier to use than ever before
Available in beta beginning August 5 for some Xbox Insiders

Hello Xbox fans! We’re excited to share something we’ve been working on for a long time: the all-new Microsoft Store on Xbox. Far more than a typical app update, we’ve rebuilt the experience from the ground up to be faster, safer and easier to use than ever before. We’re obsessed with getting it right for customers, and we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on.

Faster

The new Microsoft Store on Xbox is more than twice as fast as before. It launches in under two seconds, and the browse performance is greatly improved – it’s faster than ever to load pages and find what you need, whether it’s checking out a sale price or watching HD trailers.

We’re looking forward to your feedback. The new Microsoft Store on Xbox is just the first of many updates we’re rolling out in the coming weeks, all built to keep the gamer at the center of the entire gaming experience – stay tuned for more.

I noticed the other day that for some reason I own the 360 version of Tomb Raider Legend on Xbox One, despite never buying it. Which was a nice surprise. Was it given away at some point in the past?

That was Underworld, not Legend. I don’t think Legend has been in GWG, because it’s not in my collection (and it definitely would be).

You probably bought it? The 360 Tomb Raiders are often on sale for 90% off (about £1.50 from memory). That’s when I re-bought it after selling my disc copy. Legend was one of my first 360 games

Which reminds me I need to play through the Anniversary DLC for Legend still!

I guess I must have done, as checking the achievement list apparently I unlocked two achievements back in March 2013, the exact same time I would have been playing the rebooted Tomb Raider on PS3. And yet I only ever recall playing the Legend demos in 2006 on PS2 and Xbox 360. That’s really going to bug me now because to purchase a game and then just randomly stop at level 1 isn’t like me at all, but a nice surprise nonetheless. Only other digital Xbox 360 games I own are Galaga, Boom Boom Rocket, Geometry Wars 1 and 2...which I’ve now just spent the last 20 minutes playing again. What a truly brilliant game.

Might get Shadow of the Tomb Raider for €6. Never finished it when it was in Gamepass.

There's a firmware update to the controller. Mine hadn't updated automatically.

Settings - Devices & Streaming - Accessories - ... - Firmware version update.

I'm assuming this update will fix the issue with me being somehow rubbish at online FPS games.
I know it's not me so it must be the controller :x .

I know there's going to be a new version of the store, but in the meantime... Is it just me, or have they actually taken away the goddamn Games option from the front page of the store?! I used to press down to be able to select categories, but there's nothing there any more. I have to go to Apps or Films, then select Games from the top of the page. It's a bit of a balls-up.

EDIT: Fixed now.

It says there's no update available for me. I'm using my original XB1 pad (the one that came with the S is borked with stick drift after just over a year) so maybe the update is just for the newer models or something.

£4 for me. I was going to use it to get Telling Lies (which was already on sale) at an even lower price. But that sale has ended so now i feel like i can't.

Will have to see whats on sale currently. Alternatively its never bad to have a copy of Monkey Island 2 on your console...... Is there any easy way to check compatibility of 360 games with Xbox One? Or is it literally everything that is on sale digitally now?

Thanks, that's great news. I bought it way back on 360 but don't know how to merge game librarys (it was bought on an old gamertag) and i have lost my password etc. Now is the time to buy it for a..... fourth time.

Ouch.

As much as I love both Monkey Island games, and own them both on 360 (so on X1 too obviously). Even though I finished both on the Amiga back in the day, I can never for the life of me remember the solutions to puzzles, whats worse is I 'kinda' know in the dark recesses of my mind, like I'd see an object and remember I need to use it but forget how to obtain it so I get frustrated and delete. :fp:
