Might as well lean into it...

No amount of anger at Father Phil Spencer will make me say goodbye to my Bro's John 117 & Marcus Phoenix, my sisters, Kait Diaz, Senua and Joanna dark. I don't want to leave The blind forest or Albion, Eora, the Sea's of the Ancient Isles, Trumbull Valley and the Wastelands beyond it, will it be for Everwild? I want to Drive around the UK and Australia to see whats on the Horizon, fly across the world in a Cessna and then onward through the stars to The Outer Worlds, and further again past the planets of Reach and Sera to a strange ring world.

I don't want to be merely a Pony.

As much as I love both Monkey Island games, and own them both on 360 (so on X1 too obviously). Even though I finished both on the Amiga back in the day, I can never for the life of me remember the solutions to puzzles, whats worse is I 'kinda' know in the dark recesses of my mind, like I'd see an object and remember I need to use it but forget how to obtain it so I get frustrated and delete. :fp:

Yep, exactly the same for me. I can still never remember -

The ingredients for the pot
The skeleton puzzle
The spitting contest
The hand gesture at the door

Basically, every time i play it it feels like its been tweaked like a rogue-lite :fp: That's why i don't mind buying it over and over ;)

Does anyone still care about GWG?

Not much. But it will be good to have Armed and Dangerous. I have fond memories of that, but only ever had it on PC, and it played awfully on my machine.

With Forza Horizon 3 being delisted at the end of September I would have thought that would be a GWG as is tradition.

If anyone hasn't already got the Survival add on for The Division you should pick it up. It was my fav part of The Division and the best BR I've played.

Yes, I'll take the opportunity to download De Blob 2. I hated it at first but warmed to it a little bit.

God knows how many times I've bought MI2...probably Amiga, PC, Xbox Special Edition x2, iPad and PC again (also got again as a Games with Gold title and again with a multipack of Lucasarts games on GOG)!

FFS, they’ve moved “recent achievements” to the Notifications tab now. I wish they wouldn’t piss about making such pointless, arbitrary changes.

I noticed that as well, utterly needless.

I found a 3 month Xbox live gold membership code from 2006 and I decided to enter it into my Xbox today to see what happened and...it converted to a month of Gamepass Ultimate! Paid up till 2022. Still haven't actually paid for a month of Ultimate yet. It's crazy.

There’s been a lot of fuss about Super Lucky’s Tale DLC. To start with, the original game and its DLC had to be delisted when the new version was released. To get round people being unhappy about not being able to buy the original DLC, they bundled free downloads of the original game and DLC in with the new version. But only if you bought it. Game Pass downloaders didn’t get the old-version DLC.

Cue much complaining, leading to the decision that they would provide free download keys to anyone who could prove they owned the original game. They we’re flooded with requests. So now, they’ve made the original two DLC packs completely free for everyone.

The Division is actually pretty good as a group doing the main story.

The grinding after that can become a chore but the story missions are decent and the fact you can have members with different kit and roles means it has at least some tactics involved.

Worth a try for free anyway if you have a group and haven't played it. It also looks great.

So I got a 512mb SSD external drive yesterday and moved some games over. I went with the longer loading games. Results were mixed, I'll list the games I put on it and what diff it made:

AC Odyssey
Metro Exodus
Wasteland 3

Had no real difference in load times or anything else.

Every other game had some sort of improvement, some larger than others.

Control loads a good bit faster, I'd reckon by at least half. I haven't played enough of it to gauge any difference in performance/Menu selection as it was lightning fast. (that's about to change tho cos had a blast)

Sea of Thieves has a pretty big improvement, load time is about a quarter of what it is on a normal HDD and then in game, the island LOD loads in from much further out.

PUBG also has a huge improvement, the potatoe buildings are all gone as they just all load in, getting into a game is also really fast. It felt smoother but I'm not sure if it was any diff cos it runs well enough these days anyway.

Minecraft Loads a lot faster.

DayZ Loads a lot faster and, more importantly, it removes the stutter completely. Now I haven't gone to the worst effected areas but it's a pretty big improvement already.

The Witcher 3 Loads again VERY fast and going to UI/Menu is lightning quick

The Outer Worlds is massively improved, load times are far less and that unreal lod load up at start was barely a second.

Skyrims difference is absurd, from Whiterun to outside world was about 2 seconds! :D

State of Decay 2 probably had the biggest improvement, apart from the load times being far less, the game actually ran A LOT better, I don't know why but it really did.

Greedfall was again lightning fast to load.

I'm probably gonna change out the 3 that didn't have any improvement and try RDR2 (which is about the size of all 3 combined) and Dishonored 2 which has a long load.

Also of note, when I brought up the guide while in any of these games on SSD it was instant, like it worked fine anyway but it was definitely faster.
