Can the GR community recommend a good 3rd party. Xbox One controller for my son? Amazon seems like a but if a minefield of reviews and things breaking down after 2 months.

Ideally it would be a wired pad too as he eats through batteries and the USB port has gone on his official pad. Anything up to £40 is ok budget-wise. I'm sure someone will have something they swear by.

I was debating getting the Xbox Series X controller but have read quite a few stories of it constantly disconnecting from an Xbox One.

Just starting Hellblade, which mode should I be playing on for the graphical settings?

Are there any Kinect games on Xbox One that would be fun for a 3 yr old? Something silly and fun where she herself on the TV?

Not really. Kinect requires a lot of patience, I doubt a 3 year old would get much out of it. Maybe the Rabbids game which is pretty good, I always recommend Fruit Ninja Kinect but that'd be too hard.

Ok, Hellblade looks fantastic

Not got far mind but far enough to get a feel for it, the audio (even without headphones) is fantastic too, just need to have it a bit louder to get more of the effect they’re going for.

Prioritise Frame rate, it’d 60/4K in that mode.

I'm using a Series X controller with my One X and not had any issues.

If you want a wired controller I think the Fusion ones are best.

I must admit I thought the Series X controller was the best choice, especially as it's only £45 for black friday on Amazon.

+1 for Ryse. I really enjoyed it and thought it looked great for a launch title too

+1 for A Plague's Tale. I'm 4 chapters in so far. Strong Brothers vibes

+1 for Rewards. I've already cashed in 35k points for 3 months free Game Pass Ultimate and up to 19k earned since then. I plan on cashing in the 11k for £10 off the store. Question.... can I use multiple £10 off vouchers or am I limited to only 1 per store transaction? I'm thinking of Cyberpunk and if I can get 2x£10 vouchers (22k points worth) earned, I'd probably use all £20 in one go.

2nd question... am i right in thinking the £5/10 off Reward vouchers are time limited?

I think you can use as many xbox credit vouchers as you want. Just make sure you use them within the time frame they are valid for (its 30 or 90 days).

My question now - if you use rewards points to buy vouchers and then use them in the current black friday sale, would that spend count towards the "Spend £40 for 5,000 points" promotion? Im guessing not, but i will prob get Control Ultimate Edition, and was wondering if i should try and get the spend up to £40 whilst im at it.

Yeah, you can use multiple vouchers. I got a £5 and a £10 and used them to get Mafia.

And yes, surprisingly, using the vouchers does indeed go towards the £40 target for the sale promotion! So I bagged another 5k there, having already bought Control.

And the 5k each for buying CoD and Valhalla were added even though I bought them via CDKeys, which was a nice and unexpected bonus.

Quick question: Is Project Gotham Racing 2 backwards compatible? If so, can I buy it digitally anywhere or do I have to buy a disc? Same applies to Outrun: Coast to Coast though I've a feeling that one has license issues so only the disc will be available.

Thanks Rinks & Kaza.

I too bought the Mafia Trilogy to get the 5k bonus for £40 spend. Interesting to know CDKeys codes count though as I paid full store price for WatchDogs Legion and COD. Must remember that for next time.

Re the 30/90 days expiry on the credit, I presume there’s no danger of the points expiring? Think someone in here said they had 140k of them? I’m sub’d to Game Pass Ultimate till spring 2022 so don’t feel I need to top that up. Rather save up points to exchange for credit when I want to buy my next game, possibly next gen Cyberpunk whenever that is released. Suppose in theory I could get a game free if I have enough Reward points?

Make sure whatever you buy is XB1. There is some small print that X360 games don’t count towards the offer

If you’re interested in the Mafia Trilogy that’s just over £40 (£43.xx I think from memory?)

I also bought Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars for £3.99 for a nostalgia trip. C&C Red Alert 3 also available at same price if anyone fancies that nostalgia too
