And yes, surprisingly, using the vouchers does indeed go towards the £40 target for the sale promotion! So I bagged another 5k there, having already bought Control.
And the 5k each for buying CoD and Valhalla were added even though I bought them via CDKeys, which was a nice and unexpected bonus.
Oh wow, guess i better see what i fancy in the sale to make the value up to £40......
Make sure whatever you buy is XB1. There is some small print that X360 games don’t count towards the offer
Thanks for that tip!

If you’re interested in the Mafia Trilogy that’s just over £40 (£43.xx I think from memory?)
I also bought Command & Conquer Tiberius Wars for £3.99 for a nostalgia trip. C&C Red Alert 3 also available at same price if anyone fancies that nostalgia too
Is that the 360 game? I still have my original boxed copy! Great game.
Been playing a bit of Streets of Rage 4 on Gamepass, dontmindifIdothanksverymuch.
Like the way it looks and plays, lots of nods to the past, really good fun too. Lots of nice humour, they've really captured some of the best of the original games. Should probably play it co-op next, as that was always the most fun way to play these games.
Whilst I do like it a lot, it's exactly the kind of game, like Soul Calibur 6 and the new Marvel vs Capcom that I'd have bought, played about twice, and then likely not played again. So, onto the external drive they go for now, ready to swap back in whenever needed.
And cheers to Gamepass for all three. It's amazing just being able to dip your toe into so many games that you kind of fancied trying but aren't sure about, just have a blast for an hour or so, then move on without a care in the world.

Really think they should just get rid of Games with Gold. Let's be honest the titles on it are pretty awful each month and with Game Pass no one is going to miss it.
Just looked on how long to beat how lengthy the games I’ve currently got downloaded will roughly take me, seen that What Remains of Edith Finch is about 2 to 3 hours, would it benefit from playing it in one sitting/over an evening?
Still slowly making my way through Hellblade anyway, done one of the two trials (did the fire one first), really good so far but have found the letter puzzles to be ever so slightly annoying in that you have to be in the exact right space for it to register properly.
You do get used to the letter puzzles eventually. I remember being frustrated with them to start with as well.
Edith Finch is broken up into lots of little stories, so you could play it in chunks, but I think it would benefit from being played over a short amount of time. I did it in one session.
I just find they’re overly sensitive, once I knew I’d found the letter and was moving about constantly trying to get it locked on, ended up looking online just to confirm I had in fact found it (I had thankfully) and then proceeded to edge around till it clicked.
I might leave Edit Finch for Friday evening/the weekend then, would be good to get it done in one session if I can.
I think I played in about three sessions, over the course of a weekend. IMO, it warrants a bit of contemplation, rather than getting through it all in one go.
Hellblade is now finished, really good on the whole, couple of very minor issues (one point when crawling through a tunnel I couldn’t get up so I got killed) but nothing to spoil my enjoyment of it overall. Is the second game going to be a sequel or prequel to Senua’s Sacrifice? Not sure where I missed some of the runestones but obviously did at some point as I didn’t get the achievement for that. Quite like how they teased permadeath at the start to further instil a sense of fear in the player, further adding your fear of losing hours of progress to the ones of Senua.

Not sure if you're aware, but there is no permadeath in Hellblade. You can die thousands of times and never lose your progress. It's just there to instill anxiety.

I looked it up once I’d completed it, just thought it was a really good idea, really made each failure ramp up the pressure that bit more, if I’d known before playing it that nothing would change it wouldn't have had the same impact.

?? I presume you brought everything from your Xbox One over, which means your background will be the same as it used to.
In settings>personalisation you can pick dynamic backgrounds. I've gone for the circles that remind me of the 360.
The app has been updated to change your gamer pics again (as you can see in my sig - maybe when its not randomly black)
Sorry, yes i picked dynamic backgrounds on my Series X. But I only ever saw an actual dynamic background once. I think it was after coming out of the personalisation menu itself. The rest of the time i am still seeing a static image of a game etc in the background (like I was before selecting a dynamic background).
Maybe you didn't apply it, mine has been on dynamic backgrounds since I got the Series X and I have it every time I go to the dash. Never get the old game tiles any more.
