I was thinking the exact same thing! Why else would he have a Switch on display in a Microsoft video?

The switch is Android based isn't it?
Xbox Gamepass XCloud could work in theory then..

Other things on the Shelf are Watch Dogs: Legion & Sekiro which are rumoured to be coming to Game Pass.

This might have been the Nintendo thing but who knows -

Don’t rate Kojima at all so don’t care I’d he’s making an ‘Xbox’ game or not. The fallout of the announcement would be amusing though because in a Venn diagram, Sony and Kojima Stans overlap quite a bit.

Loads of people leaving Resetera because they think it’s ‘Xbox focused’, you read that right, Resetera... christ.

Has Kojima done much of note outside of Metal Gear and Death Stranding? (Not played this so no idea if it was actually any good!) From what I’ve played of Metal Gear (just MGS to MGS V Ground Zeros+Phantom Pain) I’ve really enjoyed them so I’d be happy just with a Metal Gear mega collection for the current consoles.

Not really.

He did a first person survival horror game called PT but Konami delisted it when they fell out with him.

Konami own Metal Gear though and these talks if true are likely for a new project.

I’d forgotten about PT. I know the thought of a Metal Gear collection is highly unrealistic as they just don’t seem bothered about it in the slightest, even though it’d do very well sales wise most likely.

Hopefully a Phoenix Wright style OBJECTION will kill this deal. :shifty:

Out of both Next Gen consoles, Xbox is the one that has me most excited. I really hope they continue working with Nintendo as well, especially when Switch Pro comes out.

Zone of the Enders, Snatcher, Policenauts, Boktai.

I think you missed the "of note" qualifier there. ;)

I like Boktai to be fair

Plus he was producer rather than director on Boktai and Zone of the Enders

Knowing I’d only be getting one of them this time round (as both ended up being relatively underplayed last gen due to not having enough time in the day ), I also thought that the Series X looked more promising, more exciting and so far I’m really happy with it. They’ll both be really good consoles with a lot of great exclusives each by the end of this generation. Series X and Switch is definitely a good combo for myself.

To be honest I’ve heard of those but never actually played them, are they any good? Part of what would put me off an exclusive from Kojima is how overly hyped Death Stranding was, as I mentioned above I never played it but the advertising campaign for it put me off it as I was definitely unsure whether to get it or not in the first place!

I really don't rate Kojima either. Every MGS game since 1 has been extremely flawed in some way or another. His games are self indulgent as strawberry float at times.

The Metal Gear series as a whole (so not just limiting it to MGS) is an impressive body of work with a selection of varied and interesting titles - not all of them are a self indulgent mess! Even in the main MGS series I'd say that only 2 and 4 push the limit on that front.
