I guess that some folk - such as myself! - like to have games "ready to run"... even if one isn't planning to do so immediately. My two PS4 consoles have 1Tb internal drives with one also having a 4TB USB HDD and the other a 2TB USB HDD. It's surprising how they fill over time!

On the newer consoles space seems to be at even more of a premium; all okay for many people but not so much for those who prefer to have their games "on hand".

Xbox: Played in Scotland since 2002. To celebrate we worked with Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers to create an official Xbox tartan and a custom, hand-crafted Xbox controller. Thanks for being part of our clan!

I can understand it if you're an S owner, as I've appreciated the breathing room the X gives, especially if you have big multiplauer or live service games like Halo, Sea of Thieves, Fallout 76 etc on there, but can't imagine actually needing more. I've filled my X up mostly, but there are at least 20 titles on there and I am only actually playing two. Cloud gaming reduces it further I'd imagine.

I also have an external SSD for my non 'X/S' Games and that's almost full.

Looking at my achievements in the app - The bigger ones I have are Elder Scroll online, Warzone, Sea of Thieves and AC Odyssey and AC Valhalla (about 80gb each) plus Forza Horizon 5, Elden Ring, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman Trilogy, Chernobylite, Pyschonauts 2, Halo Infinite, Back4Blood, Guardians of the Galaxy, State of Decay 2, Aliens Fireteam, Resident Evil Village, Control and many other smaller games... I'm not a fan of deleting and redownloading games so it's great to have them all ready to go.

Daughter has an expansion card for her Series S which is also nearly full...

I usually download games when they come to Game Pass then transfer them to my 2TB external drive for when I'm ready to play them and transfer them back. I could easily cope with not having an external drive though.

I've almost got enough points on MS Rewards for the equivalent of £75 on the Microsoft Store. I'm going to see if I can save up enough for a Series X. :slol:

All I've been doing really is using Bing instead of Google.

It is! I finished it while it was on Game Pass. Hydro Thunder also excellent but has been a Game With Gold before. After that it's slim pickings. Party Animals is atrocious.

May Xbox Update: Create, Share, and View Stories in the Xbox app and More

Summary

Create, share, and view activity feed content with stories in the Xbox app for iOS and Android.
Add priority tags for your console gaming experiences with Quality of Service (QoS) Tagging.

Team Xbox is excited to continue bringing new ways to make Xbox better, with you at the center, as we refine the experience and deliver brand new features based on your feedback. This month’s update will bring you the activity feed on the Xbox app for iOS and Android in the form of stories. You will be able to create, share, and view stories with your friends in the Xbox app, and add priority tags for your console gaming experiences with Quality of Service (QoS) Tagging.

Create, share, and view stories with the Xbox app for Android and iOS

Now in Australia and coming to more Xbox supported regions soon, your activity feed is getting revamped for the Xbox App. Stories lets you showcase your skills and keep up to date with your friends. You can share your favorite gaming moments including game clips, screenshots, and achievements with your friends and the Xbox community. You can also reply to your friends’ stories with a message or a quick reaction.

The stories channel is located right on the home screen of the Xbox app. To create a story, click the + button on your gamertag located within the stories channel, and then select the game clip, screenshot, or achievement that you want to post from the gallery. Once selected, you will go to a story preview page where you can choose to add a caption to your post and then click the post button located on the bottom right. The stories channel shows content from the last 72 hours, and anything you share is also posted to your activity feed on your profile.

Add priority tags for your gaming experiences with Quality of Service (QoS) Tagging

Quality of Service (QoS) tagging is a new service for Xbox consoles and sets priority tags on latency-sensitive outbound networking traffic such as party chat, console streaming, and multiplayer (in supported games). This helps protect your gaming experience from connection issues during times of congestion on supported networks.

In the Settings app under General, Network settings, Advanced settings you’ll see a new button for QoS Tagging Settings. Under QoS Tagging Settings, there are two options: DSCP Tagging Enabled and WMM Tagging Enabled. Learn more about settings options and advanced network settings for your Xbox - https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/har ... k-settings

https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2022/05/03/ ... -xbox-app/

DSCP tagging enabled

Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) tagging is done at the IPv4 and IPv6 packet level. It’s used on both wired and wireless network connections
to identify latency-sensitive network traffic to prioritize during times of network congestion. DSCP tagging can be used in network environments that support prioritization of tagged traffic, such as home routers/gateways with QoS functionality, or ISP networks that support Low Latency DOCSIS.

WMM tagging enabled

Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) tagging is done at the wireless packet level and is only active on wireless network connections.
WMM functionality is typically enabled by default on wireless routers/gateways and provides a mechanism for protecting priority tagged Wi-Fi traffic against impacts to latency and/or throughput during times of wireless network congestion.

Not even taking into account the tens of pounds I saved thanks to the freebie Crunchyroll and YouTube perks, but I just saved my second lot of £55 today, thanks to MS Rewards :toot: :toot:

Some official PR -

So far, more than 10 million people around the world have streamed games through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

players across all 26 countries have played on more than 6,000 types of devices, from various flavors of Android phones to a range of PCs and iPhones from all generations.

Since launching under two years ago, we’ve worked with over 125 developers to make more than 350 games from the Xbox Game Pass catalog cloud enabled. We’ve also seen the power of cloud as a discovery mechanism by reducing the time to simply try out and play new games. On average, Xbox Game Pass players who use cloud, discover and play nearly twice as many games as Xbox Game Pass members who don’t play on cloud.

We launched cloud gaming with one cloud aware game: Minecraft Dungeons with custom touch controls. There are now more than 150 cloud-aware games featuring touch, and we’ve found games with touch controls lead to more engagement. On average, we see 2x increase in play for games that have touch controls, and 20% of Xbox Cloud Gaming users use touch exclusively.

Cloud aware titles also extend to more intensive games, making it possible to play Gen-9 titles on Xbox One via the cloud. A great example of this is Microsoft Flight Simulator. It became available via cloud on March 1, and quickly became the most played cloud game on phones, tablets, PCs and consoles for the month of March. Players who otherwise wouldn’t have access to Gen-9 titles now have the opportunity to jump in on the devices they own.

Is there a way to see all games linked to my Xbox account going back to the 360 days? I have tried Order History but as I go that far back and it seems it that the options just show ‘points purchase’ rather than the game I actually bought.

Basically there are a few games I swear I got back in the 360 days but I can’t seem to find a download link and some of them have now been delisted.

A bit convoluted, but...

Your achievements list will show what you played even if you didn't gain any achievements. I find it easiest to browse it on PC: Log in to your account > click on your avatar > Xbox profile > You should find Achievements beside Activity Feed. If you then click on a game it should also then display a "view in store option" on the next screen.

EDIT: Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I downloaded all my 360 downloads doing this method but on the SX.

Wicked, I’ll give this a try, cheers!
