Looks like it's gonna be a cool setup, Errkal. Even though it's already cool with your Wii U powered on, obvs  .

Get a gold sub as cheap as can.

Then get gamespass and EA access.

For £10 a month (game pass is £8 a month EA access is £2 - I think, I pay in Euro)you'll have about 150 games day 1.

Including:
Halo 5
Gears of War Remastered
Sunset Overdrive
Mad max
Gears of war 1-3 plus Judgement (back compat)
Resident evil 0 and 6
Dead island definitive edition
Fifa 17
Star Wars battlefront
Madden NFL 18
Mirrors edge 1 and 2
Plants v zombies 1 and 2
Battletfield 4
Mass effect Trilogy (back compat)
Titanfall
Bioshock Trilogy (back compat)
Dead Space (back compat)

And coming this month to EA access:

Battlefield 1
Titanfall 2

* plus Watchdogs if get it by end of the month.

They are the highlights.

That is pretty much my plan :D

Deal I got can with 5 games which is nice so got a good few bits to be getting started with.

Comes with Horizon 3, Forza 5, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse and Rare Replay.
Have picked up a few other bits I've seen.off offer like Halo Master chief collection, and what not that are on my account ready.

Quite looking forward to having a modern console (sorry jawa as much as I love the U it just doesn't count)

Oops :fp:

That's not a bad deal, serious and fun Forza's. :D

You may look into getting an external HD, just pop them in any USB port, format them via Xbox (pops up on screen takes about 5 seconds) and you're good to go.

Yeah I was considering that, although my internet is good so might just manage what I have installed for a bit.

Then in about a week when I get sick of them buy a 2tb usb3 drive

I think he sold the previous ones, as he didn't see the point in them with a gaming PC. I guess he really wanted to play Perfect Dark

At least stripping the snap nonsense out of the main OS has made the speed of the thing more usable now. Still stutters and has to think about things from time to time but a lot of the frustration has been removed.

It's actually only my third :shifty: I wanted some Xbox One controllers for PC multiplayer so getting two of them, the console (for Perfect Dark  ) and a digital copy of Forza Horizon 3 (which I wanted to play on PC but not enough to buy it because of the Windows Store) for £180 was a no brainer. I noticed that I also have Lost Odyssey so I'll give that a go at some point :toot:

I think the console performs better when it's set to instant on mode, as opposed to energy saving mode. It depends on how much you care about your electricity bill as opposed to a slightly faster - but still undoubtedly a poor and janky - OS.

I wonder if the OS on the new Xbox One X will be exactly the same as the One S version... or if extra features or smoother running will be possible?

I think it'll be the same OS going forward unfortunately :( but at least the next console has more powerful hardware, of which you'd assume a bigger footprint would be reserved for the OS versus the current console.

Since they got shot of the snap feature the biggest performance bottleneck is probably the actual Hard Drive. My storage probably has more individual files than most thank to Rock Band and it really cripples the system whenever the console wants to scan the storage. I think the One X will have a hybrid drive right? Versus the slow 5200RPM of the original Xbox One should also fix my issue there too.

Yeah, that'd be cool - maybe the superior tech will give the user interface a bit of a boost.
