I had an issue once with my XSX controller just refusing to link to the console from a QR state (see a few pages ago). However no wireless headphones were connected at the time.

I’ve had about 4 or 5 instances of my controller disconnecting completely and turning off within seconds of it booting up the console but a quick long press on the middle x button reconnects it without issue

A couple of times my controller has turned on the series x but then switched off again straight away. Holding the button on the controller turned it on and paired it instantly again on both occasions.

The season changes once a week, but only after you’ve gone through the first four season changes at your own pace. Keep playing and you’ll find an event that unlocks summer. It’s been a long time, so I can’t remember what the unlock conditions are.

The full unlock conditions for MP, as in the co-op mp are quite bizarre. I'd say it takes about 3-4hrs before you can play co-op, unless they've changed it. Don't get me wrong you can still race together in MP and do the party games but the co-op main mode means everyone has to unlock the prologue events which does take some time.

When it happens on mine then the controller won't reconnect unless you reboot the console. What seems to happen is that when shutting the console down, the headset switches it back on again and I'm thinking it must take over the connection that is reserved for the controller in some way. Thankfully I've got a media remote so can get into the console and prompt a reboot. After that it connects fine. I'm tempted to report it on the XBox support as it might be specific to the headset I'm using.

To be fair, I'm not looking to scalp or sell it on. More just I'm enjoying the S so much, that I regret not just plumping for the more powerful, future-proofed console. Storage is also an issue as my gaming habits and preference for long term "live service" games like Destiny, Halo, Sea of Thieves, F76 etc mean I have to juggle stuff at the moment.

I'd be selling my S on for cost or for less than I bought it if I trade it in, so I wouldn't be profiting.

It's unlikely it will happen either way, and entering the lottery is just a way of giving me the option of an X. In all likelihood, what I'll probably do is wait until I permanently return to the UK sometime next year, and then maybe get an X when it's more freely available, or on they monthly payment option thingmy. Easier to get rid of my S then too, or use for for another room or something like some of you crazy bastards do.

F76 and Sea of Thieves you say?

I'll be jumping onto the Destiny 2 train on Dec 8th (X/S enhanced day).

Destiny's well worth starting or going back to if it's been a while. The latest expansion is great (and free on Gamepass). They've removed and sunset some weapons so you won't feel like you're miles behind. I don't know if many people play it on Xbox though (I'm going to be using the next gen version for solo stuff; unfortunately my clan and IRL friends play the PS4/5 version so I'll need to go back to that).

Once I've finished a couple of big Gamepass games, I'll be downloading F76 and trying that out on the S. Got up to about level 20 on the PS4 but not averse to starting again, if the game is going to run better on the hardware. Not sure what Bethesda are doing with regards to cross save or same-family upgrades.

Sea of Thieves I have downloaded and it's long been one Xbox One exclusive I have wanted to try out. Just because of other stuff like Halo and Forza, I haven't actually gotten round to it yet...

Also on a separate note, I unlocked the seasonal stuff on Forza last night too, and it's weird that it sort of tricks you into thinking it's a single player Burnout Paradise-stylw experience until then.

And then like a lot of live service games it just throws loads of stuff at you and it's all quite daunting.

I tried to join some of the pine seasonal events too, but it was also just matchamking, never starting them. Is it region-based?

It seemed to not be able to find anyone, which is surprising given I reckon a lot of new consokle owners will be playing it. But I'm in Japan so maybe not so many are doing so over here...

Did you see anyone driving about in the open world? They appear on map as grey circles. If you haven’t seen anyone then it must be region based or something because I always see players driving about.

Anyone know of stock coming in for the X soon? I'm trying to get one for one of the kids. I managed to get a PS5 for my eldest, but not the X for my 2nd child. They consoles are for CHristmas, but I don't feel it right to give one of the kids a console and not the other when both have asked, so I need to get an Series-X FAST.

Yes, it would be unfair to give only one of them a console. So sell the PS5.

To spare the second child disappointment, I'll take the PS5 off your hands. I'll save Christmas.

My brother got one as an add-on to his EE contract this week.
Might be an angle worth trying?

Picked up Control Ultimate edition in the sale. With reward points it was only £7.50. Hopefully the upgrade will be early in the year.

I’m tempted by WRC 9 in the sale, already down to half price but I’m not sure if thats a good thing or not, only came out in September...... Still, tempted mind as my wheel needs some use outside of track focussed racing games.

John Lewis CS have told me that they are expecting 200 units between 30th Nov and 14th Dec but they can’t give exact dates or times of when exactly. Not great I know but it’s a ballpark and I would imagine other retailers would be expecting stock then too

Have there been any updates in the last day or so? I'm finding quick resume on Fallen Order a bit more reliable recently.
