The Pro/Business version will allow you to do that, but the Home version won't.

Isn’t that what the PS3 does? Pretty sure mine turns on at some point during the night to upload save data and check for updates.

Yeah, it does, as long as you leave it on standby. In theory, that behaviour should be replicated with the Rest Mode of the PS4 or the Instant On mode of the Xbox One, but I'm not sure the three are the same in practice.

There seems to be a discussion where some people are really upset that the Series X controller is still using AA batteries and I wondered how many people here think it's an issue?
I'm perfectly happy using AA's as they aren't hard to charge and while I am lazy I'm not so lazy that changing a set of batteries every so often sends me into a cold sweat of dread.

I like the choice. Fixed rechargeable batteries eventually degrade and stop holding a charge, and can end up being a pain to change.

I must say, Phil comes across extremely happy and focused in that interview trying to hold back smiling when asked about games coming down the line. He also seems very pleased about the price and thanks 'microsoft' for 'backing us up' when he's talking about it. Hope this means it's gonna hit €499.

Although somewhat he dodged the question, he did admit at being happy after watching the PS5 spec reveal.

With over 30% being unemployed in the US alone by the close of 2020, whatever the price was going to be at the start of the year definitely isn't going to be the price they end up at, which may still end up being too high.

By unfortunate chance you couldn't have picked a worse period in the entire history of videogames to be launching an expensive console. After the usual launch hysteria of both machines, this is going to be one slow starter of a new generation.

Don't worry, Ivanka Trump is a job creation machine so she'll have them all back at work in no time.

Reboots plural is interesting tbh. We all know the fantasy is Fable.

KOTOR 3 :datass:

No jokes, if they pulled something like that I’d be very tempted to be there day 1 with the Xbox if it was an exclusive.

Perfect Dark with The Coaltion developing part of it could be one of the reboots.

Obsidian has their game which acquired MS them for plus Outer Worlds 2 could be the sci-fi's.

Inxile have a AAA RPG in the works which could be the fantasy worlds.

Then you've got The Initiative's game, State of Decay 3, whatever 3rd person game Compulsion are doing, Ninja Theory's projects, maybe another Rare game, Double Fine games and whatever 3rd party exclusives MS have.

Interested to see how Remedy's Crossfire campaign turns out as well.

The Initiative’s game is what I’m most curious about, they’ve hired some insane talent from rockstar and God of War devs. Rumour is they are working on 2 IP’s, one of them being Perfect Dark as a 3rd person reboot.

It's possible that before the financial impact of the lockdown hits societies it could be that the market is ripe for new consoles. More people at home, more people with free time, more kids bored; all these things are believed to be factors in the Nintendo Switch having this upsurge of sales, besides Animal Crossing, to the point that it is sold out in many stores here and internationally. As people are home more perhaps this could actually be good for business, it won't be until launch sales figures are released that we can compare to the last (current) generation.
