Bit of an odd question, but can you view 360 games you own but can't be played on Xbox One, on the Xbox One? I'm just clearing out my 360 digital games, removing stuff I plan to re-download on Series X, and I've remember I own loads of stuff from Games with Gold that isn't downloaded as I didn't have the space. Can't find a way to see a list of that stuff though. They don't show up as purchases in my billing history on the Microsoft account. The only one I can remember is Dark Souls, and if I search for it, it will let me re-download. I guess I could just google a list of the first few years of Games with Gold.

Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for, but if you go to this page:
https://account.xbox.com/en-GB/Profile
and select Achievements (just under the coloured box), it will list all the games you’ve booted up at least once (and you can filter just 360 games). Apart from that, yeah, a googled list of Games with Gold titles is a good starting place.

I think that says less about how well Microsoft have done generating hype this time around (Which they have done very, very well) and more about just how much they strawberry floated up the XB1.

To have a major multiplatform magazine basically come out and say XB1 wasn't even worth considering is a damning indictment of Don Matricks time at the helm of Xbox.

Luckily for them Spencer knows what he's doing and the turn around has been astonishing.

This gen is going to be really interesting, simply because both Sony and Microsoft are starting off strongly. It's gonna be fun seeing what they come up with going forward.

Kicking off a New Generation of Play, Together

Gaming connects us even in the most difficult of times. In a year that’s consistently thrown challenge and change our way, games told us new stories, enriched our lives, and brought us together across physical and social distances. Your actions in games showed the power of play and the imaginative feats we can accomplish together.

To honor the launch of the new Xbox generation, we invite you to celebrate this power of play with us. On November 10, we invite you, players of all identities and backgrounds, console generations and devices, skill sets and tastes, to celebrate, connect, and play together. We invite you to grab your device of choice and play alongside Team Xbox, your favorite creators, and our partners, right from your homes around the world. We invite you to take a glimpse behind-the-scenes of the next generation of games, hear the stories of people who make them, and play along with them. We invite you to tune in to our global livestream in celebration of play on November 10 at 6 p.m. GMT on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook Gaming.

Think of our livestream celebration as a companion to your gaming plans for the day. We’ll host “Let’s Play” segments with the creators, showcase special launch highlights from around the globe and harness the power of gaming to raise vital funds for great causes. This will be a moment of play, not press releases, as next generation consoles begin to land in the hands of players around the world. Instead of big announcements, we will mark the beginning of a new era by gaming alongside one another. We will take this moment to have some fun and look forward to having you join us.

November 10 marks a formative moment, the very beginning of the new generation of play.

You will be able to experience many of its benefits right away – like the incredible look and feel of movement at 120fps, faster load times, richer gaming libraries, the mobile reach of cloud gaming, and new unforgettable game experiences. As creators tap into the power of the new Xbox console generation over the next decade, you will see gaming shake free from its former limits. Unique custom-designed innovations will make Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S highly coveted this holiday season, and we are working hard with partners around the world to bring as many new consoles to as many players as possible over time.

With the goal of empowering everyone to join this new generation and experience the power of play everywhere on the planet, gaming with Xbox will transform throughout the next decade as our investments across content, console, cloud gaming and PC evolve in harmony – with each other and with what players want. For the gaming industry, there’s no better measure of success than more people playing, and more players discovering games they love.

I can’t wait to celebrate with you on November 10, and I’m looking forward to experiencing what we will all create through play. See you on Xbox soon.

Phil

Still going to have my 360 hooked up in the office as there's a fair few 360 titles I wanted to play that I've realised won't work on the Series X, although the disc drive is kind of knackered on it now. I have to use a paperclip to open the tray.

Im pretty sure your right. The number of OG Xbox games that play on Xbox One is actually a bit slim. I know quite a lot of my origional collection dont work (i was hoping to play Fatal Frame and Silent Hill 2 but neither of the discs work on my 1X).

I know it’s not the greatest version of SH2, but the Silent Hill HD Collection is compatible, and it’s only £6 at the moment.

This is how it begins - in a months time i will have bought new copies of all my old games :shifty:

I was only going to play them for an hour or two tbh, i just wanted to give them a try as i have never played those titles and it is Halloween (full disclousure - they were a friends games, he passed them on to me before moving away).

I’ve gone and bought it now. I thought I already had the disc version, but apparently not. Must have been getting mixed up with all the other HD collections I bought around the same time (MGS, Zone of the Enders, DMC).

Microsoft gives the new Xbox Series controller to two special guests and they absolutely love it.

So excited right now!

Genuinely looking forward to forgetting to duck before my shields go down and getting killed constantly in Halo again.

Come ooooon! This really can't come soon enough, I'm stoked. So looking forward to this, could be a proper f-u to 2020

I think the first thing I'll try will be Gears 5. Yep, reckon that's how I'll roll.

Feeling the excitement too Abacus! Can't wait until November 10th :D

I really enjoyed Gears 5, looked amazing on the Xbox One so you'll get a nice little bump in graphics and performance on the new console. I'll probably be playing Gears Tactics at launch along with a load of One games I haven't got to yet, but running even better with faster loading.

I've booked Weds 11th off work so I get the whole day to game with my XSX.

Sod's law dictates the courier wont deliver it till afternoon or evening of Tues 10th and it means I'm not wasting a whole day off work to only get a short time with it.

This way, I can set it up and get any system updates etc sorted on the Tues eve and then hit the ground Weds am.

I'll have AC Valhalla brand new from Smyths Toys (so long as Covid lockdown doesn't prevent me collecting it!) plus I've just bought Watch Dogs Legion digitally so I can install that from the XB1 external HDD if required.

Probably will fire up Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Halo MCC, Halo 5.

(XBox has no gaems)

I have Gamepass so have that stuff but I think the first game I'm going to try on Tuesday (If I can get it delivered before work) on Series X is Watchdogs legion which I have already but I'm not starting.

Next Gen London will I think be a fitting introduction for me for Ray Tracing as I've never experienced it in a game yet :D .

Mine's arriving November 11th or 12th from Amazon UK, which isn't too bad given the distance it will travel, but it does mean I can't book the day off work.

I really wanted to book the 10th or 11th off, as it's also Destiny Beyond Light launch day, but maybe the only option is to suddenly feel sniffly as soon as the package gets here...

My first games are going to be Forza Horizon 2 and Fable Anniversary. Sounds crazy but I started thinking back over the first games I played on all my consoles...

PS4: Uncharted
Wii U: Earthbound
PS3: Metal Gear Solid
Wii: Super Mario 64
Xbox 360: Halo
PS2: WWF Smackdown 2
Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure

Yeah... twenty years since the first game on a new console was a game actually made for it  It’s a combination of me usually getting consoles late and also missing some big ones entirely.

I never had a PS1 so had a huge list of games I’d been dying to play, and got stuck into them when I got a PS2. Likewise never had an Xbox, so that’s where I started when getting a 360. Never had ANY Nintendo console before the Wii. Can’t wait to make Skyward Sword HD my first Switch Pro game next year!

I was wondering about this the other day. I haven’t bothered downloading the current version because I’m assuming the Series X will need to download an entirely new version, rather than making use of some of the same download.

Depends on the Dev’s tbh.
