Are you a BT customer? If so they have an option to register your interest for when they’re available (they were doing the same with the PS5 today as well I believe), might be worth a shot if you are?

Edit, the same with EE (registering your interest) as well where £45 gets added to your bill for 11 months for a Series X plus another controller. No idea if you’ve tried any of these already, sorry if I’m just repeating what you’ve been told already.

Definitely worth trying at least, obviously it doesn't say when stock will available but I know someone who did the same for a PS5 via EE and got one ordered today (but again, no idea when they’re actually getting it).
