Luckily it seems like the "ultimate edition" downloads the base game, the DLC, and then a separate ULTIMATE EDITION X|S file. So it seems like it all works together. I'll check in a second, but my save seemed to still be there when I loaded it earlier.

EDIT: It does work. Relief.

Gears tactics crashed on me earlier and I lost 30 mins progress so I rage uninstalled. I guess this is where we are with tolerance to gaming imperfection (by we I mean me).

Also played Burnout Paradise today after playing about 10 other games since and the quick resume worked! From the lowest of lows to the highest of highs....

I feel like I’m almost a Game Pass convert already

Currently have downloaded the following, (probably play them in this order too)

Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice
A Plague Tale: Innocence
What Remains of Edith Finch
Outer Wilds

Not sold on Outer Wilds but I know Hellblade and Plague Tale are meant to be great, need to play Hellblade before the second one comes out in the future. What Remains of Edith Finch was recommended by Rinks and does look rather good too!

Even for £10.99 a month Game Pass Ultimate seems like a real bargain and genuinely feels like Xbox/Microsoft’s killer app going forward.

By pure coincidence I’ve just played another hour Hellblade, performance mode now runs perfectly at 60fps. You have to wear headphones to get the most from it but I must say, apart from the fact it’s stunning looking still, I find it hard going, which I guess is the point but the constant voices and bleak stoic scenery makes me feel anxious and claustrophobic so, job done.

Everyone kept saying how short the game is but I must have at least 10hrs done. The combat is odd, it’s simple and basic but visually, when you parry at right time and the light from the weapons colliding in super slow motion is spectacular. I can imagine Ninja Theory fleshing out the combat in H2. It’s a visual tour de force at points, the shore line scenes especially. Can’t even imagine what next gen hardware will bring in H2.

I tried a few other titles, Bioshock 2 is locked 60 and the frame rate bug plaguing past gen (unless you disconnect from the internet) has gone but a bug remains...the right stick is fine looking about but the left one has a huge dead zone before you walk anywhere, this I’d the only game to have this. Got used to it but still strange.

Popped in shadow of the TR and again it’s locked 60 on performance and looks gorgeous to boot.

Yep, to Robbo, there's so much stuff on Gamepass, and good stuff as well, I don't think you could ever get bored of it.

Plus, all the big first party games too. If they're £60 a pop, you only need 2 a year of them for this to pretty much pay for itself.

In saying all that, I'm primarily playing Peggle. But that's because it's Friday, I've had a beer, and the Xbox knows it.

That’ll be me tomorrow night but swap in Rocket League with a Spotify playlist of ‘dance classics’ and then playing PUBG with rando’s. :fp:

Oh and I’ll have a jaunt on my sloop in SoT’s!

There are rumours that retailers will have more console stock available today and on Friday, Lewis. No details on times, though. I suspect a lot of folk will be refreshing web pages today.

Disclaimer on Edith Finch: it’s slow-paced and sorrowful. Neither are negatives, and both added to why I liked it. Just be aware of what you’re heading into!

If the story is good I don’t mind slow paced games at all, likewise with sorrowful stories too.

Edith Finch is one of the most impactful games I have ever played. It’s so beautiful and artistic. I’m guessing it runs smoother on Series consoles also (I remember it being a bit choppy, especially at the beginning on One X).

Loved Hellblade and plague Tale also. Could not get on with Outer Wilds.

Outer Wilds I’m going to try just as it looks intriguing, perk of Game Pass whereby if I hate it I’ve not exactly lost much!

My hard drive has arrived, so transfer of plenty of games on the One to it begins. GTA V has done in about 20 minutes. Everything else is less than half that size, so shouldn't be long before the One X can get early retirement. Also got myself a 2m long cable so I can use the new controller wired. These controllers seem to kill AAs.

I got the new play and charge from AO and not actually timed it, but it seems to last much longer than two AAs. Only issue is it won’t charge through the USB wall charger I was using, but does charge with my the one for my iPhone.

Lots of people think it’s one of the best games of the generation. It just did not click for me. I can imagine it being amazing if it does though - it’s very unique and should certainly be tried giving there are no reasons not to.

I was never going to bother with the play and charge pack anyway. I'd bought one for the One controller and never technically used it. It was always just in there as a backup in case the cable decided to stop working. I'd swap it out from that One controller, but there doesn't seem any need to when it's so easy to just have it wired up.

I know I'm a bit behind the curve on playing GTA 5, but I got all the dlc etc with some crazy Gamepass discount.

Never been that much of a fan before, but got it to play online with a friend. She has the Xbox One, I've got the Series S. Anyway, the load time differences do seem huge, as I'm in the game long after she's still staring at a loading screen.

But the other thing is, even if it's upscale, flipping heck through a proper 4k TV this looks amazing, properly crisp and vibrant. Just been driving around taking in the sights for fun, and then when I got into a helicopter and saw the city below it was a proper wow moment. And that game is donkeys years old.

Might try Halo 5 next. Or Soul Calibur 6. Oh, I just don't know :slol:

And depending on what the Expanded and Enhanced version entails, it'll look even better.

What did you get up to? If you really have only just started, certain land races are on triple rewards until Thursday if you plan on making it a semi-regular thing. Easiest way to earn a bit to buy a property and start hoarding cars.
