Microsoft keeping the laughable naming convention going.

Looks a bit like a square version of the Mac Pro waste bin.

Seems like Xbox will try to keep the most powerful console thing going into next gen, good for them. Again, it's all down the games. Ninja Theory will be ones to watch. I hope MS funds them with endless money so they can run wild with their talents.

MS have certainly got a far better stable of studios to work on stuff for this than they had at the start of the XB1 generation which should help keep things interesting

It's not available for pre-order on Amazon yet.

Oh well it was fun thinking about the next xbox but that's a blunder they'll never recover from.

Series X... There's a fun name. Completely good one.

If they are serious about everything being compatible across generations, such a name makes sense so everything doesn't get confusing. It's bland, but it does the job. Still would have liked a name like Infinite or similar.

It'll be exciting to see what sort of games will be coming to it, but I can hold out a year after release for it. Unless something real interesting gets shown off.

I agree it's dull but it's the fact it doesn't look the same that bothers me, it probably won't fit in my TV unit.

I think this is genuinely one of my favourite console designs ever.

It also just makes me think of most console instead of laying them flat standing them up, but wider. Yay?

Fake Mock Ups of possible future consoles. These are not real.

I wonder if the top pops off if you want to replace the HD?
That way they can keep the flush outside with just the disk drive slot showing.

Really confusing SKUs for anyone who is not an enthusiast gamer. I expect that will bite them in the ass. With two tiers, like ordinary and 'pro' its pretty obvious that the pro version is premium but with this lettering crap its not so clear.

The pictures above aren't real consoles.

Yeah, my mistake, I knew the images were mocks but I thought the names were based on actual released information. Still, three versions is still too many.

The mock-ups remind me strongly of Amazon Echo, so I wonder if that will actually end up being Microsoft’s inspiration.

If you read the articles about this it says it comes with the Elite Series 2 controller and I honestly can't see any way that's going to happen. That's a £150 pad in every machine and pretty severely devalues it.

Where on earth did you read that?

No, its got an "an advanced d-pad derived from the Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller." Phil says "We have a new hybrid d-pad that we've been working and think is important."

I read it on some tech website that I now can't remember the name of because I have memory problems that I'm seeing the doctor about :shifty: .

The advert on the radio makes a joke about having a "Memory like a fish" but believe me it really isn't all that great slowly degrading into a vegetable. A few days ago I wanted to ask a friend at work something (I've known her for about 3 years) and I couldn't remember her name and it's really rather embarrassing.
On the bright side it is making my rewatch of X-Files strawberry floating awesome though so maybe it's all worth it  .
