I've owned XSX for, nearly two months now.
And there's one thing that pisses me off about it, and it's something that even my PS4 did better!

It does not remember my Netflix login.
I have to type out the email address and password every. Single. Time.

It's so annoying that I'm finding myself booting up my PS4 just to use Netflix :x

That's weird, I have no such issue on my Series S.

I’ve had that issue a few times, probably only totalling a handful of times but still a bit annoying.

I haven't that issue at all recently but did a few years back, I think I deleted the app and re-downloaded? I think you have to clear the cache also (a hard reset) and that resolved it.

Can someone recommend me a HDMI cable for the Series X?

The one i got with the console appears to be borked as I’m getting lots of handshaking issues when playing the Series X on the LG CX (issues that don’t happen when using the PS5 or Switch on the same TV)

Before you fork out for a new cable, have you tried swapping the PS5 and Series X cables?

I have, but I don’t think I have played anything long enough to see if the PS5 cable was better. Basically the 2 issues I am getting playing on the Series X is

- Launching the console will sometimes load in a shockingly low resolution, the picture quality is awful. I have to fiddle with switching the instant game response option on the TV on and off in order to get it working.

- Twice now I have been playing a game on it and the TV will randomly switch off then back on again.

Both of these only happen when using the Xbox Series X

Get in touch with Microsoft to see if they’ll send you a new one? They can always say no but worth a shot before you pay for one as the provided cable should be good for 4K/120fps if your TV supports it.

Doesn’t sound good. Maybe try it using a different HDMI port on the TV, just to rule that out too.

Yeah, over the weekend I’ll plug the PS5 into the HDMI port the Xbox is currently in and leave it on for a bit and see what happens.

I did wonder if it was something to do with the TV’s instant game launcher setting but it doesn’t effect the PS5 so I’m not too sure.

Anyone notice that quick resume is working a lot better recently?

I haven't had a game not quick resume in ages.
Such a great feature when it works!

Sorry to bring this thread up.

Lately, I am keen to looking into buying an Xbox Series X or S sometime in 2022 and I am not 100% certain yet as of now, but who knows in the future I will. Can anybody explain what difference between Series X and S. Also, the Game Pass and Live Gold. Do they both come up as a bundle or separately?

I used to have an original Xbox and Xbox 360 ages ago. I think I would enjoy the benefits of the Game Pass such like Forza 5, Halo Infinite, and the past old games like Gears of War and etc.

I'll try to be succinct. The big difference between the Series S and Series X is resolution and performance. The resolution is usually the biggest difference, games scale automatically up and down via Smart Delivery (they'll scale further down for Xbox One versions for instance). Typically Series S outputs at 1080p compared to the Series X 4K. Now, first party games do tend to hit 1440p on the Series S. Performance when it comes to 60fps is the same on both consoles (as they have similar CPU's), you'll find that the Series S will have a few less 120fps titles though, (the Series X has a high amount of these - far more than well...you know..Series S has more too btw.).

The hard drive on Series S is half the size of the Series X but both work lightning fast and feature parity is across both so you'll get the VRR support, Quick Resume and any further machine learning techniques down the line (again thanks to the CPU's).

The best thing to do subscription wise is to go for Game Pass Ultimate which combines Xbox Live Gold, Gamepass (on PC and Xbox) and Cloud access for 1 price. For me that's €15 per month, no idea what that is in Sterling. Within Gamepass you can complete 'Quests' (kill 40 zombies in Back4Blood) and can use the rewards for another month of GP Ultimate - I don't take much notice of these and generally have enough every 3 months to get 1 month of GPU free but you could get more if you really want to.

The Entire Gears of War series is now 4K/60 on Series X as are all the Halo Games, but for games from the gen you skipped AND all Bethesda games from the past and incoming plus the MMO's Sea of Thieves, Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76 that will be there forever, it's pretty good.

The Series X has a disc drive, has a 1TB hard drive and targets 4K.
The Series S does not have a disc drive, has a 512GB hard drive and targets 1080p.

That’s it.

To be fair to Photek I didn’t answer the Gamepass question.

In case you're wondering what this is, BOR:

It's one part of what's known as Microsoft Rewards. MS gives you points for doing stuff like logging into Game Pass on your console, Game Pass app on your mob, Xbox app on your mob, playing a particular game on console and or PC. They even give you points for using Bing. Once you have enough points you can then turn these in for more Game Pass time or Gift Cards to spend on MS Store, etc.
