Unless I missed something the Back Compatibility on Xbox One (and X) only works for select games, I'm not sure that's going to change for OG Xbox and 360 games, I can see it working for 100% of Xbox One titles though.
The size of the GPU part on this is making it look like sub £599 isn't likely for this, which is fine if there is a 'Series S' version of the console for around half the price.
I missed out typing ‘select’, I presumed it was known...
I'm not sure everyone knows it, especially when you are talking about OG Xbox backwards compatibility the selection is pretty bare at the moment. There are only 32 original Xbox games in the BC list for Xbox One.
If MS could somehow make the Series X compatible with all OG Xbox games that would be a system seller for me. I've just gone back and softmodded my OG Xbox so I can play games at 480p through a OSSC I've purchased, if next year I could suddenly play all those Xbox games at 16 times the resolution that would be great. Like I said though I'm not holding my breath for it.
When they announced the "
last" of the BC games for X1 early last year, they said it was to focus on the goal to get the current BC games that work on the X1, working on the new hardware for day 1. And 100% of the X1 software and hardware working on the new hardware for day 1.
Then they'd go back to bringing additional original and 360 titles to BC for X1 and the new hardware.
