I tend to pre-oreder from any company that Mike Ashley doesn't have any investments in.

It’s really hard to tell this time. I can see the Series S becoming a big seller, with its low price, but god knows how MS are going to balance the manufacturing and supply of the two models.

I’ve always bought my launch day consoles from Game/Electronics Boutique. But the 360 was the last time I bought on launch day, so I really don’t know who is reliable any more. I was thinking that even if Amazon don’t get it to me on launch day, they’ll have the clout to get more stock sooner.

I suspect there will be supply issues, unless MS and Sony have already got major stockpiles in target markets. Shipping from China at the moment is in short supply, and way more expensive than usual, so any JIT supply chains are really struggling.

Just worked out that if my shift pattern doesn’t change at work (normally doesn’t) that I should be off on launch day for the Series X, could be a good day off :shifty: I’ll just need to decide what I might buy at launch or whether I should just wait for Cyberpunk for more of a next gen experience as I already have Jedi Fallen Order plus a few racing games to enjoy on the new console as I’ll be able to enjoy the Xbox One X enhanced versions.

I'm assuming to Series X can be laid on it's side? Want to fit it under my mounted monitors on my desk but it'll only fit if it's horizontal

The controllers look the same as the xbox one controllers, do we know if they will work across the consoles? Would be amazing if they do but I imagine not to make that bit more money?

They work across all the consoles as do the current controllers work for the Series S/X.

Yeah both can be laid/stood up to whichever the user prefers, I’ve seen a post elsewhere that the way the ‘X’ is on each console gives a hint to the best way to have it if possible? I’d have thought both would be better laid on their side as that way you won’t be blocking any vents at all, I’ll try and fit it behind my TV laid horizontally first but if it doesn’t fit quite right that way I’ll just stand it up.

Champion cheers. Im sure if there's a 'benefit' to be put stood up then I can rearrange things on my desk and make it fit, but there's just a nice Series X shaped space under one of my monitors so made sense to lay it under that.

Ooft. That won't fit in the 15cm-high gaps under my TV unit. What a beast.

If both of those size charts are off the same site I find it mildly annoying that one is in cm and the other is in mm, I probably shouldn’t but just do.

You mean you can't rotate the logo?

PS is best confirmed

Sadly not, it looks like it should be able to rotate but I’ve not seen anything saying it can be :(

I only very recently found out that the PS logo could be rotated as well, its something thats never bothered me so subsequently never bothered trying!

It’s a bit of a dilemma for me. There is just enough space for the Series X under the TV, and it would look very neat (except for the logo), but I would be constantly worried about overheating. There is just enough space behind the TV, allowing the heat to rise out of that huge top vent as intended, but I wouldn’t get to see much of the console (and disc changing - rare - would be a faff). I think it’s got to be the latter.

I think if it was up to MS it'd be on a plinth in the middle of your living room.
