So my initial reaction to playing Halo 4 in 120 FPS was "I'm not sure I see it". I've finished that and started playing Assassins Creed Origins on PS4 as I wanted to catch up on the series to play Valhalla. I've never had a problem with 30 FPS before, but all of a sudden it's really annoying me.

...even if it's upscale, flipping heck through a proper 4k TV this looks amazing, properly crisp and vibrant. Just been driving around taking in the sights for fun, and then when I got into a helicopter and saw the city below it was a proper wow moment. And that game is donkeys years old.

And depending on what the Expanded and Enhanced version entails, it'll look even better.

What did you get up to? If you really have only just started, certain land races are on triple rewards until Thursday if you plan on making it a semi-regular thing. Easiest way to earn a bit to buy a property and start hoarding cars.

I'm about level 7 or 8 or something, so really only a few hours in

Cheers for the tip too. I'm loving just dipping in and out of this, completing the odd mission and otherwise just suiting myself.

I seem to have $9m already though, due to whatever pack I've bought, plus a bunker and a garage. So I'm buying rocket launchers, yachts and jet fighters already.

It's just like real life.

Ah, the Criminal Enterprise Pack, that sets you up with the easiest money maker in the game (as long as no-one blows you up from the sky). I'd hold a few million back if I were you. No telling how much the buy-in to start the next heist coming in December will be. That submarine will easily be around 2 or 3 million. Assuming you'd want to try out the new heist of course. Another helpful tip - new stuff gets discounted each week, along with new things being on double (or even triple) rewards, so keep an eye on the Rockstar Newswire website each Thursday for those changes.

Origins is not an easy game to finish quickly. Odyssey takes the biscuit. I'm finding Valhalla to be much more driven than either of the previous two games, thankfully.

Plopped in Dirt 5 earlier. Wasn't quite expecting the Series X upgrade to be 69.4gb. Doh.

Thanks again, that's mint advice. I never even knew I wanted a submarine before now, but now it seems so obvious. It's what I've always wanted.

Also bought some kind of walking -around machine gun as well.

I'd be honestly amazed if an enhanced version looks better than this.

Can the GR community recommend a good 3rd party. Xbox One controller for my son? Amazon seems like a but if a minefield of reviews and things breaking down after 2 months.

Ideally it would be a wired pad too as he eats through batteries and the USB port has gone on his official pad. Anything up to £40 is ok budget-wise. I'm sure someone will have something they swear by.

I was debating getting the Xbox Series X controller but have read quite a few stories of it constantly disconnecting from an Xbox One.

A couple of good support threads, about known issues (previously posted, but now updated), and a bunch of game-specific problems. Might be worth a quick check, to be aware of this stuff. Nothing catastrophic that I can see.

Finished my first game on the Series S tonight. A small indie title called Halo: Conant Evolved. Think we can expect some good things from that developer.

Coincidentally it was also my first Xbox title played and completed too

It's like poetry.

Nice, if you enjoyed that give Halo: Combat Evolved a go, it's apart of the Master Chief Collection with some other great games ;)

That'd be one hell of a crossover. Master Chief in Conan Exiles, beating up barbarians with high-tech weaponry.

So what’s the deal with Series X stock at the moment, any likely to arrive in December?

They've said it'll be in short supply in April. Might come and go with the occasional restock but they'll get snapped up by scalpers before anyone decent can actually order them.

Cheers all, I’m hoping John Lewis will get some next month as I have a £100 gift card from buying a TV. I’ll keep an eye out
