Game keeps minimizing back to the desktop every couple of seconds.

Yuk. Launcher always, somehow, works, but it can be flakey.

I managed to get it working after a bit of tinkering, downloaded an alternative launcher and had to close a couple of the accessibilty programs I used until after the game launches.

Its ridiculous how they've changed the perfectly functional original launcher for this gooseberry fool, apparently Civ VI also has the same issues now.

Doing the first ambushed operatives mission and now, all of a sudden, neither operative can shoot for beans. I hate it when the game becomes hard just for these introductory missions.

Stealth missions :msgreen: Though by the end there was no way of avoiding the base finding out we were there, so it wasn't proper stealth, but I managed it having killed only 1 advent.

The other gameplay element missing from XCOM is the ability to set up a firing order or having everyone pummel one target at the same time. I hope those get introduced in XCOM 3.

Yeah, on over watch, pick the target. Introduces another layer, as I always hope they target the purifier for an explosion.

On the stealth front, the prisoner rescue missions I tried a stealth to the exit, grenade the wall and rescue and run. Works well for an underpowered team.

Funniest moment in any game of XCOM 2 yet: Chosen defeated after Reaper explodes the building it decided to hide in.

My funniest was when an explosion sent a sectiod flying into a wall where it landed in a crumpled heap with a twitching arm that made it look like it was having a wank.

 I've had some odd jittering ragdolls but nothing quite as funny as that.

The single best physics glitch in any game I've played is still the Oblivion one where a sword stood spinning and balanced on its tip after being knocked from an enemies hands.

With that in mind, I opted for the turret research last night. And then up popped one of those mission types where you get to pick 1 from a selection and doing it successfully ends a threat. Mission I opted for ended UFO threat. Dual redundancy 8-) 8-)

Yep. But I like the way it’s thrown in there, to keep you on your guard when you might be getting comfortable. It is difficult though, especially because you have no control over condition of troops. I had just finished a mission when it got me and my best troops were injured.

I just keep loading my save from just before, looking how far away the tower is from the ship and reload if its too far away to reach easily.

Did you get them back safely?

I just properly defeated one of the Chosen :toot: :msgreen: The fight against it was pretty straight forward (thank strawberry float that, unlike in the first fight, it doesn't go stealth after attacking!) but the lead up to it was really enjoyable. (In a shooting fish in a barrel kind of way :slol:)

I eventually got everyone back safely but Mox has developed a fear of MECs.

It’s a great layer that. Build the infirmary (or something) to remove negative traits. Otherwise, they run and go Berserk. When one of your own team kills another, either through berserk/mind control or panic it’s just a proper kick in the nuts. It hurts.

FFS, Having an utter niightmare on this today. Spent over two hours tryinng to do a crashed UFO mission which I had to eventually abort as there were far too many enemies to beat witth my squad of four and just now failed a VIP extraction due to a sudden Lost swarm turning. up.

Going to go back to an earlier save tomorrow.

Slightly better luck today, first mission (VIP extraction) didn't go well and was aborted, 2nd mission (kill Advent general) was a success though, he was at the extraction point about to escape so I got Elena to blow up the car he was stood next to, blowing up a petrol station in the process.
