Battle system has the same core principles as XC2 so I imagine it'll be easier to get to grips with if you're coming off XC2.

Looks like the emphasis here is on switching between characters and keeping things going, rather than the blade/driver stuff in 2. And Fusion Arts looks interesting addition but they didn't go into too much depth.

Yeah it does look similar so hopefully I will click with it sooner than XC2, that’s system was really good once I got it.

This looks so good. Premise is very Xenoblade and the changes to the battle system sound interesting. Looks like it has all come together really well

Couldn't help myself and had to watch this Direct. Man, pretty everything about this just looks so strawberry floating good!! :toot:

Seems like they have done another fantastic job of taking the systems from the previous game and building them out further, really cannot wait to get stuck into it now!

Only thing that concerns me ever so slightly was the look/design of the spaces the player is moving through - one of the reasons I think I prefer XC2 to the original is the more layered and intricate (and just generally interesting!) designs of the locations - lots of verticality, layering of spaces, hidden nooks and crannies etc. The spaces shown here looked at first glance like a bit of a step back to the "flat open plain" with fewer interesting features to explore which made up the majority of the first game and that would be a shame if it's the case.

EDIT: (Oops - expansion pass details already posted by Milner!)

"Outfit colour variants" as a paid extra at launch :| . I don't really mind paid DLC but... colour changes... on launch day? :( .

I’ll probably take a wait and see approach with the DLC, partly to see what it is and partly to see if it gets a standalone release like Torna.

No issues with them announcing the story DLC in advance. Obviously they'll be working on that for the 18 months post release.

The other stuff feels like it should be included though especially the stuff on release day.

I'll just buy the story expansion when it's discounted in the future, no real issue with them announcing it early though. If anything it's nice to know they've got long term plans to continue the story and provide new content. If it's a similar scope to Torna then it's going to be a another good deal

It looks amazing and it was good to be able to get an insight into the new combat systems ahead of time. I've enjoyed the combat in all the games but stopping to carefully read about it does slow down the pace. Hopefully seeing it now will make it easier to get into playing the game when it launches.

The DLC isn't a surprise after XC2 and it's good to know what the team is working on now that this is ready for release. The cosmetic content did really be free through.

I'm very excited to get the game but will likely wait at least until I finish Baldur's Gate on the Switch. I'm avoiding buying games that will sit unplayed for a while.

Torna has properly got it's claws into me now, just hoovering up everything it has to offer and having a blast! If they can build something that matches or surpasses this with 3 then it's going to be pushing for a GOTY spot for me I think
