I do wish Pyra/Mytha didn't have the american accent tho. Her VA Skye Bennet is british and would have preferred they kept it like that (her playthrough of the game is well worth watching too).

For XC I thought Reyn had great moments for the most part, but his deliveries didn't always hit as earnest as I'd expect. He shines best when he's bouncing interactions off other party members. My favourite cutscenes are when he's getting messed with by Sharla. Those two had great chemistry and the dynamic worked really well. My take on Melia might be controversial but I just wasn't feeling her for most of the game until late story. Her stiff nature doesn't always come off that well. Riki is uh... Riki I suppose lol, just gonna leave that there ">,>

I agree about Melia, and she's virtually the same in Future Connected. I think Coleman is a great actress, but her voicework is a bit lacklustre here.

And yeah, I try to forget Riki ever exists. Apart from that one nice scene with Dunban, he does nothing for me. His kids are pretty good in Future Connected. Surprisingly great voicework for them.

Like mentioned in my first impressions for FC, I actually like Melia a lot more here. Her VA is more mature and calm natured now, it suites her personality so much. The first Quiet Moment you see with Nene and Melia was genuinely heartwarming, I loved it.

Hit level 80 this morning and I'm currently finishing off rebuilding colony 6. Got 2 things at level 5, and I'm not far off the other two being done. I can get all items through monsters now, apart from two which normally you would get from sword valley, so instead I have to rely on farm/water tower rare drops. Will take a while, but I'd like thst quest to be done before I go on to the ending.

Level 80 is the perfect level for the final battles. If you go beyond that, it will be strawberry floating cakewalk.

Have you checked if you can trade for them?

Yes, it's just the one item that's either on a level 95 enemy, so not an option, or has a 10% spawn chance in you know where.

I think I must have got lucky with that one then.

I'm a few hours into FC and I just need to get this off my chest and say that I refuse to believe Kino and Nene are Riki's children lol. There's no way that buffoon raised these kids >,>

They are about 100 times more clever than him. They are the first Nopon I have actually liked in the series to be honest.

Whoever decided to have them both in this story made the right call. The sibling dynamic is adorable and comes off so genuine. The Quiet Moments have all been great so far too. For the record, I know a lot of folks disliked Tora but I enjoyed what his character was and how it contrasted the rest of the cast in XC2. At least he actually contributes to the party with Poppi and has somewhat of a character progression.

colony 6 fully upgraded to level 5.

Now on to the ending at some point this weekend.

Got a nice 75% EXP boost equipped on shulk, should be handy if I go to NG+

Played a lot of this last night and it was probably the first session where I came away thinking "yep, that was strawberry floating great." I started playing at around 8PM and before I knew it I looked at my clock and it was gone midnight! :slol:

Finished off chapter 6 and made my way through the Bionis' Interior and on to the Makna Forest and strawberry float me is this a good location, and so strawberry floating huge! I spent ages exploring everywhere (or at least everywhere I can get to at this point) and it's just such a well put together location. I love how it progresses from the cliffs and waterfalls starting point into the full on dense jungle as you explore further in. Probably the first location that rivals the design of those in XC2 for me. :toot:

One thing I loved about Xenoblade was that I could sit down at the weekend, sink 4 or 5 hours into it and really enjoy it, and know that I'd barely made an impact on what I still had to do or how much of the game was left. I'm sure a lot of people would hate that, and usually I would too, but it's a testament to how enjoyable the game was that I almost didn't want it to end and was quite willing to put so much time into it.

Whereby, i previously complained of being over-leveled, i now find i'm pretty much on point. Hit level 50 last night, just coming up to the end of Sword Valley.

Some of the battles have been pretty tricky recently, especially when other enemies get drawn in.

The scale of the whole thing never ceases to amaze! Glad i decided to come back to it.

God I still remember my first Fortress fight in Sword Valley. Then encountering Mordred towards the end of the game

I finished the main game earlier this week, and started FC today. Can't lie, a bit apprehensive... I guess anything would seem underwhelming after Xenoblade's latter chapters. I am giving it a chance though.

I'm somehow enjoying FC more than a lot of main game lol. Bionis Shoulder is incredibly dense and well designed. You can tell the BotW influence came into effect here. Another nitpick I had of XC is although the locations were all consistently amazing, the size at times almost fet TOO big. You spend a lot of time just running across large open spaces in that game. FC kinda fixed some this.

End of the game is still utterly bonkers.

I still have so many conflicting feelings with those last few chapters lol.

10 hours into FC tho and I'm having such a jolly time. Everything I felt was lacking from the main game in pretty much all in this story. Kino and Nene are so gosh darn precious and Melia is really moulding herself to be a much more prominent figure. I love her character now. The Quiet Moments have all been a great highlight too.

It was pretty nuts.

Started future connected this morning, seems like a cool area so far. Hopefully I'll be able to wrap this up before F1 2020 unlocks this week.

Haven't progressed the story much in this since my last outing so I'm still just in the Makna Forest but I've been picking off a whole load of side quests and levelling up Colony 6 - I'd somehow completely missed the colony restoration side of things until now! :fp:
