I'm up to chapter 17 now and where I lost my save last time as I still can't beat Disciple Lorithia :(

You want use ether based characters if you are under levelled. Main Melia, I used Sharla and character 7 as well. Don't kill all the cloud things, kill 2, leave the other 2 of them on the field and target Lorinthia. She gets more extreme buffs from any other number of those things on field.

Or just over level and the fight is a cakewalk.

I tried a few times with Melia and Seven as my main but couldn't even take out the novas. I was definitely doing something wrong so I'll try again with Melia as my main and Shulk and Reyn to topple in chain attacks.

I got quite annoyed at how over-levelled I was towards the end of this - don't think I died once in the second half of the game as a result and it removed the fun challenge that any later bosses might have provided :(

I remembered the story being good but not this good. I cant even remember what the second one was all about

I never quite connected with the story in this as well as I'd hoped, I'm not sure why but it just sort of washed over me more than anything.

I think having played it after the second game and hearing how so many people thought the story in this was better that my expectations might have been set too high.

I think the story in the first game is much stronger than the second one.

Yeah I appreciate that seems to be the consensus but I just don't get it myself. I struggled to care about anything that happened in the first game

I defeated Lorithia :toot: I explored Bionis' Interior properly to pick up items and defeat enemies to level up. I only went from level 72 to 73 but it let me get used to using Melia so I was able to beat Lorithia on my next try. Now I'm back on Prison Island and chasing Dickson.

Dunban? Oh you mean generic JRPG swordmaster character 101? ;)

I think a big part of the problem for me is that they don't do enough to build a lot of the characters and their relationships in the main story. I'm sure if your unlock and read through every heart-to-heart then you might get more out of it but those are implemented so badly that it just wasn't worth the pain in my view!

Just finished chapter 14. 3 more left plus dlc I think.

At level 70 which is about even for my place

Edit: just started chapter 16, forgot that chapter 15 was really short and just boss battles.

Ive forgot all the twists this game throws at you through the story, really epic story telling reminded me why i added this to my top 10 game list.

That Yaldabaoth fight is really weird as Yaldabaoth himself is easy but its his minions that can turn the fight especially when you have to destroy 3 generators in 2 minutes while he spawns 4 minions, two of which can easily destroy you if they both activate their spin attack. Not only this but your party may not follow you to the generators and end up dying from their own stupidity.

I need to go back to the Future Connected "DLC", I think I was a bit burned out by the endgame so ditched it not long after starting.

I've just finished it - what a game!

Truly an epic masterpiece and I could happily spend hundreds more hours replaying it and completing all the sidequests. Just listening to the credits is such a peaceful and blissful way to wrap up a magnificent adventure.
