Thought I'd be buying this on release but I'm still playing Fire Emblem so I can't justify it yet. Will have to wait a bit longer to find out what all the hype is about.

100% 'ing any JRPG is a good effort in my opinion! Think with the 3DS version I did a lot of it in about 105 hours? Wasn't anywhere 100%, doubt I'll be going for 100% in the DE either.

Future Connected for one!

If anything it sounds like some streamlining will make fully completing it a tad quicker, rather than an area for an item you’ll be walked to the exact location for example.

Had a text message from Royal Mail that my copy will arrive tomorrow. Not. Happy.

Mine arrived at 7:59 am! I woke up thinking I had a dream that I woke up to answer the door for it. Then I saw the box. They keyring is trash, for anyone who missed out. Nowhere near the quality of the AC pins. The softcover art book and steelbook are gorgeous.

I wasn’t expecting any freebies from ShopTo, got a poster (not opened yet) and a key ring which isn’t that great, certainly nowhere near as good as key rings in the past.

Edit, not loaded the game up yet but who cares about that when there are freebies to discuss :slol:

Key ring looks good, reckon it’d scratch your phone up if it got nearby though....

The poster, well it’s a not great looking poster but it looks like they forgot to colour it in or something?

Just as well the game will be superb to make amends for these freebies I wasn’t even expecting!

Spent 5 hours just in the first area last night. The Colony 9 day theme made me cry. Shimomura is just too godlike. This game is gonna consume the heck out of me lol. Also worth mentioning if you have a XC2 save the game lets you choose to start with 100kG or not. I decided to take it but won't be spending it all in one place. Already saved up extra cash from the deluge of side quest I spent doing anyway.

The town affinity system seems pretty neat, but is there a worthwhile investment to it all? I'll still be doing them as much as I can but not sure about trying to 100% it.

Docked for now, purely because I knew the opening would look great, will be playing handheld at some point, be a better handheld experience than the 3DS (although considering it played very well on the 3DS).

Won't be all the time but I'll often sink in another hour or so before bed in handheld mode. Joy Con drift mostly stopping me from playing more than I usually would tho. But it's manageable. It's fun just pumping out some side stuff.

I still can't quite believe I'm playing this game.

Really impressed with it so far. It looks great.

I gave it a little go just now (handheld but like the rest of you ill likely play majority in docked mode)

With the battle system, i get that you need to wait for the cool down on your moves, what is the idea between cool downs?
I notice the character does an automatic slash with the sword every couple of seconds, should I be hanging around the enemies and let the characters auto slash the enemies whilst waiting for the cool down on the main moves to end?
