This Zazadan is properly doing my head in now, seriously how many quests can one NPC give? Literally only going through with them as they give a nice little chunk of exp!

Edit, with me typing that post I’ve got the last one for now it seems as there isn’t a current direction to go for it, thank goodness!

Edit 2, I’d forgotten just how insanely big Makna Forest is :dread:

Flip!

To be fair, when i checked i had 100% most of the areas i'd been through...

I don't think i'll be continuing like that though. Need to finish it before i leave it another 9 years!

Get it done, it's awesome!

Beat the main game, 56 hours.

The area in Future Connected is strawberry floating huge.

Edit - And done. Took about 7 hours. It was okay. Not anywhere near the main game in terms of quality. The framerate gets really strawberry floating choppy at times.

56 hours is a very quick time! What level were you out of interest?

I’ve just arrived at Nopon Village, I’d forgotten how many floors it was!

Yeah I'm almost at 70 and I've just entered the Mechonis Feild area. Which is amazing so far. The tonal shift is quite something >,>

Level 80.

I was level 74 in the epilogue, but you start at level 60 in that.

I don’t think I’ll be nearing level 80 after 80 hours  how did you level up so quick?

I'm at around level 45 after 31 hours so I can see how it's possible to level up at that speed. Just done prison island and haven't got a massive quest backlog so I might press on to the next section.

Just started chapter 13 or 14 I think. Just beat jade face and I'm in the mechonis chest factor

I think it's more to do with the way the levelling system works in this. It rewards you for pushing through the game. The EXP for fighting monsters gets lower if you are a higher level than the monster (I think? That was my observation anyway).

I only did some grinding twice for two very late bosses. I knew both were coming up. But I did a lot more sidequests this time round.

Getting your levelling right makes a lot of difference. Higher level enemies inflict status bonuses (like accuracy issues etc). But there's a fun way of bypassing a few of those penalties with gems. I love the combat system in this.

Now you mention it when I was playing through the 3DS version I did seem to find it was the case that progressing the main quest and grinding as and when was a very viable option, honestly tempted to do the same this time, the side quests are just never ending and I still have plenty of other stuff to play as well

I think it's neat how the game prevents you from grinding in the same spot. But also encourages you to take on side quest if you want those extra EXP. It's weird that I got over levelled from completing mundane task more so than fighting difficult monsters lol.

Just about done in Makna Forest now, beaten the Telethia and just doing the other side quests that have popped up yet again :fp: Oh and more have appeared in colony 9 as I had to go back there for one of the quests.

Level 40 anyway, no idea if this compares to the rest of you or not?

There’s 17 chapters altogether so still a bit to go yet!

The side quest overload is absolutely killing this for me. :dread:

I know they are optional and I should probably just ignore things but for whatever reason that is easier said that done. I've played about 10 hours of this now and the vast majority of that time has been largely meaningless fetch quests to find items or kill a certain number of monsters, the story has barely got out of the starting blocks and is just not getting anywhere near enough time to breathe. Which is a shame because the few story beats that I have hit so far have been promising.

It has basically turned the experience into videogame Muzak for me - a background activity, something I'm half paying attention to whilst watching a show on Netflix at the same time.

Just pick them up and then ignore them. You'll either complate them just by monster encounters or picking up objects as you move around anyway. If you do them, great, if not it doesn't matter.

What I'm doing for the side quests now is making sure I do the ones that give exp, the others can just be a bit of extra money if I happen to do them or not. Quite a few do naturally tick themselves off through playing anyway, there is still far too many though!
