Ok notice from the achievements that I've cleared well over 200 side quests now. But only relatively late on did I realise that not all give xp. If I'd known, I'd have left a fair few that I went out of my way for. Now I pick up all the new ones when entering an area, see which give xp and do those, then just do the story quests. If I get in to fights which clear money side quests, then great.

Yeah I do just need to get better at prioritising the right quests. I don't really need to do the ones that just give you cash as I got the bonus money for having an XC2 save and genuinely don't think I have actually bought or sold a single thing at any shops so far either!

For me that'd have been a much welcomed change for the definitive edition, get rid of all the non exp giving side-quests and just give the player more money from battles and selling unneeded items so you don't feel constantly overwhelmed by them all. Hopefully I'll be able to clock a few more hours on this today, only put around 25 into it so far.

Edit, finally reached Eryth Sea after doing a few side quests in Colony 6 to get that started, let’s see how many more side quests I can pick up :toot: :dread:

Just hit 24 hours as well, thought I’d be on more than that.

I was overwhelmed with the sidequests too; worth heeding Victor's advice. It's def the way I'll be continuing.

Will pick this up in the next night or two. Was just about to kick off a fight in the Whitewing Palace but decided to do a recap on the story which i had mostly forgot. Have watched 3 out of 4 hours :slol:; that'll take me up to where I am now.

Few chapters away from the end it seems. The story is actually picking up a lot more now which is getting me hooked to know more. The Mechonis areas have all been incredible so far.

Been a while since I did Colony 6 stuff and think I'm at a point where I can get every item required so I might take a break from the story and get everything up to level 4. I wonder how much is left >,>

I think I can probably guess where this is going now, maybe

you/shulk take control of the bionis and have a player controlled dual

What sort of point do you have to be at to finish the colony 6 stuff? I've got everything to L3, and a few at L4 but some of the items are on really high level enemies.

I'm on 15 hours played on this and still haven't actually got to Colony 6 yet! :fp:

It's weirdly spaced out in terms of what you can and can't get. Currently just hit Chapter 15 and I have every item I need except a few you can't obtain for Lv 4 Special facility until a little later on according to Wiki. I like getting every item first and upgrading all 4 facilities together. But I guess it's not really intended to be done that way lol.

Witnessed the end of Chapter 15 and opening to 16. I've played XC2 and should've prepared myself for that but still, it was wild af.

I've been chipping away at this over the past couple of weeks and have been making my way through Gaur Plains. I'm nearly ready to leave the area and continue with the story. I'm just wrapping up the Nopon side quests that appear at the end of Gaur Plain, before the next cave.

Speaking of wrapping up side quests, I'm late in the game, and the ones I'm being given now are for level 85+ enemies, and I'm level 72. Are they that high becuase they're supposed to be done post main story, or are they they for you to grind towards? Most are locked behind boss enemies I have no hope of beating.

Well there is new game + if you wanted once you’ve finished it. I always thought that was the idea with the really high levelled area enemies, something for those players to still have a challenge with? I don’t know for sure though.

I can’t remember anyway, do the side quests tail off a little after Alcamoth? I’m hoping so as most of my time with this today will probably be spent doing the exp ones from this area!

I'm on the last stretch too. A lot of mixed feelings so far over the course of these last few chapters. I'm not feeling that buzz or adrenalin rush I usually get at the end of great JRPG. Plan to take care of the last batch of sidequest before wrapping the story up tho. Just got everything up to Level 4 with Colony 6 finally too. But there's still more lol left lol.

Just finished the section in the tomb, still got a lot of Eryth Sea to explore before I move on though and plenty of side quests :dread:

Just a slightly random note as well, I really hope if they do re-release XCX on the Switch then they put in the party exp mode like this game and XC2 have, was a slight annoyance trying different party members just for one to be hugely under-levelled and it just made me stick with the player character, Elma and Lin.
