How do the inns work as I seem to get levels when I go but I thought it was some applies stuff I’ve earned and only does it when I go to an inn as opposed to I’ve used an inn so I just get levels.

The exp you get from resting at an inn is gained from doing side quests and just saves up till you want to use it whereas any other exp gained is just applied automatically to your party. I tended to leave the inn levelling system be unless I was struggling with a particular enemy.

You can also adjust various elements of the combat difficulty in the options, there were quite a few varieties as I recall.
Think you can individually adjust things like enemy health and how much damage they do without affecting other things. That's what I did to eventually clear some of the DLC battle challenges to unlock taking Fiora and Shulk into the main game.

I thought there was just the easy, normal and hard difficulty settings? Did more options get added once you get the dlc for it? I’ve redeemed the code I got with the Torna game but not actual played the base game since.

Might be part of the DLC but I definitely remember more options for individual battle settings.

Unless I'm mixing it up with another game

Amazon let you buy it digitally as MP3 files, either the whole thing or individual tracks.

I have certain tracks from it bought. I really enjoy the soundtrack.

Got everyone to level 26 or 27 now, I think it may be time to give the battle at the top of the stairs in chapter 3 another go.

Have you got the ability to do Chain Attacks yet? That can be useful to help level up as the Overkill Bonus you can earn will boost the amount of EXP you get from enemies (as well as increasing drop rate of items and the amount of WP you earn as well)

Pretty much what I expected TBH, it's not the best story in the world and I think the first game is better on that if im honest.

What is with this cheap boss at the end?

I can handly him easily up to the second phase when he summons two minions and wipes me out in seconds. I must be doing something wrong because the battle is really easy up to that point.

3 times now and I always die at the same point
