Well (DLC Spoilers) Shulk shows up in the Challenge Mode DLC, Monado and all, and you can use him as a blade, so you still get the Monado anyway

I thought they were gonna link it into the first game in some way. I fully expect some references to it, much like Xenoblade X.

I got to the third stage of Merc Missions and at that point I just gave up.

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have a Quest that requires you to do the same Merc Missions over and over and over again to fill up not one but three completely invisible counters?
There isn't even any particularly special reward for completing the side quest as far as I know, just standard money/exp and some crappy items you can far more easily get elsewhere.

Finished the story

Man, that bittersweet ending, leaving it ambiguous on whether Pyra and Mythra retained their memories or not. Normally Blades lose their memories when returning to the Core Crystal, and Pyra seemed to believe it would be the case when she sacrificed herself, but the lack of talking during their re-awakening leaves it open on whether or not they did. There could be seen to be some recognition of Poppi, and the new title screen does seem to imply they have their memories after all, but it still seems to have been left an unaswered question.

Yeah. Apperently people have lip what they said as "Tadaima" , which translates to "I'm home". I guess that's optimistic?

I really liked the ending, but it sucks how you can only reload pior to the final boss. Makes sense, but it's a shame.

I've just been advised on ResetEra that Takahashi himself has clarified the ending and that the intention was for it to be a happy one, that Pyra/Mythra do indeed still have their memories. He became aware of the debate over whether they had their memories or not and stepped in to officially clarify that they do.

I also absolutely loved the way they tied the game to the first in the way they did.
And I really hope that the third Aegis Core, Onton, that vanished prior to the events of XC2,
comes up/is explained in the inevitable XC3. It seemed like a super obvious lead in to link to the next game.

Well that's good then. Wish I'd read that rather than delving into reports from Japanese lip-readers!

I never played XC1 so that link was a bit lost on me.

I'm not sure where that would come from. Didn't he already say he was the AI of the space station?

I'm looking forward to revealing those spoilers :datass:

I'm at the World Tree. 60 hours in.

Spent this morning upgrading my blades. I love this game, it has some issues, but it is pretty strawberry floating fantastic despite that.

Think that sums it up pretty well. It's a solid 9/10.

So far, in terms of gameplay, it is the best one of them all. The combat system is great, and it's weirdly addictive, especially trying to string together blade combos (when I figured out how they actually work, 30 hours in  )

I got Kos-Mos yesterday as well, she's attached to Zeke. That was a really cool call back.
