I’m at the (what I presume is) first fight against Malos and lo and behold he has a party wide attack that just wipes my party out  First time Hugo survived it so I could get back to a full party of 3 but then a minute (if that) he did the same attack which wiped my party fully out!

Granted my party is level 31/32 and he’s at 40 but still  Might have to use the inn function for the first time!

If you haven't been using the Inn function then you're definitely under levelled. Monster battles are a secondary source of EXP. The EXP from side quests and Merc missions all go into your bonus EXP pool which only applies when you stay at an inn.

Well....... I used the inn function, now level 44 and the battle was a breeze! I was trying to steer clear of using the rest/inn function as it made the base game a little easy at points as you were quite overlevelled but it certainly helped in this DLC. Reckon I’ll build my community up a bit more, story wise there doesn’t seem to be loads left to do and I know you need your community at level 4 before you can complete it so it’ll need doing at some point.

Edit, it’s actually nowhere near as bad as it sounds to get your community up to level 4, they throw side quests at you from every direction and a lot of them then add 2 or 3 people to the community rather than just 1 which definitely speeds things up. Overall the side quests are better than in the base game, still a fair few quests that boil down to fetching items though. I’m on level 4 already and just trying to blitz a lot of them to get plenty of extra exp before the final fight (as I have no idea what level I need to be, I’m guessing in the region of 45 to 50 considering the previous one was level 40).

I don't know if I'm remembering this right, but I seem to remember the original Xenoblade cutting out the return journey of the majority of the fetch quests. I think it just gave you the reward there and then. I miss that a bit.

The last boss was weirdly easy.

The callouts to Xenoblade were really cool. Felt sorry for the architect. Zanza being his other half was a cool idea. Also the third Aegis, I wonder if it will turn up X2, or an entirely new game.

It was a really sweet ending. There was a bit with Morag remarking about Malos that almost made me gurn like a child. I don't know why that hit me like a ton of bricks.

And now Rex gets all the sexy anime threesomes he wants.

Overall, I think it's the best one in the series. The best gameplay, despite some flaws. A solid group of characters (I prefer Xenoblade's cast a smidge more). Best OST, maybe top ten gaming OST. I plan to do some guitar covers of the tracks in this.

I didn't notice it myself, but apparently...

The voice actor for the Architect is the same guy that voiced Shulk.

Started Torna. Not sure about the jazz music.

Just under 18 hours and I’ve just completed the Torna DLC, very impressed with it overall. Certainly tempting to go back and play each again in NG+ (well I think Torna has NG+ as well?), my party ended up at level 58, which was quite over-levelled making the last boss a bit too easy.

I'm about ten or more hours into Torna. I'm level 45 odd. Battle system is faster and better in this.

I'm kinda hoping the story does something interesting, because Xenoblade 2 tells you the major things that happened.

I don't know why they decided to lock progression until you raise community level in this. It all feels a bit fillerish.

It feels a bit pointless to do it in Torna as well, because I know that the place gets destroyed from playing Xenoblade 2.

Is that the Phantasm? :dread:

Not the strongest boss battle that.

I still need to do the Torna DLC for this, and probably so a replay of the main game as well - easily on of my favourite games on the Switch. :toot:
