Why would you take the main thing that sets this game apart from every other FPS and then remove it? It's totally strawberry floating bonkers.

What with this, Prince of Persia, and their missing sequel to Beyond Good and Evil, I'm beginning to think maybe Ubisoft should keep their 2003 games in 2003.

Just bought the original for £2, can't go wrong really, even if it's only average.

The new version looks rubbish.

Does it still have the multiplayer mode with the creepy grim reaper running about?

Yarrrrr’d the remake on my PC, uninstalled after 10 minutes of play. Really is gooseberry fool which is a shame as I have fond memories of the original back in the day.

Big bump but this is getting a big update! It seems Microids switched to another developer to help fix this mess of a remake!

Image

To achieve the quality standards and offer an optimal gaming experience, Microids decided to entrust the development of XIII Remake to the French studio Tower Five (Lornsword: Winter Chronicle). Hard at work for more than a year on a major update.

Update is due to hit 13th September

That's great news. I was really looking forward to the remake but steered clear after it became apparent it was going to be a poor game. Props to them for not simply walking away from it!

Sort-of. It's being pitched as a (major) patch. The art style is being updated so it sounds like a significant overhaul.

All the sources I've read say the update will be free for current owners of the game, so they get my respect for that. They could have easily walked away, but good on them for (hopefully) sorting it out.

I got this because it's half price in Xbox sale right now in anticipation of the update but, I watched a side by side of this and the current version and...apart from it being VERY similar the PS5 version looks worse v the PS4 current one.

Of course, the many bugs should be gone this time out.

Yeah, I ordered the PS4 version as it was £9, I really liked this game on GameCube so hopefully the new remake is better than the first attempt

This is 40% off on Switch now, did it improve?
