I hope everything improves jenuall!

A few family members came over earlier an d my brother filled my glass with whiskey before he left. Cue me wrapping gifts whilst tipsy. I hope I haven't messed up and given people what I bought them!

Damn Jenuall, that's a pretty crappy run of luck you've had, hope you get things sorted for you soon.

Meanwhile, in Vermi-land, I paid a visit to my brother and the wicked witch (his wife) this afternoon, wasn't sure what to expect as i've not seen them in some time, but in good faith, decided to take a couple of presents along including something for his little daughter. Anyways, not a great deal was said, little 'un was happy, innocent, and pleased to see us (and the prospect of presents), and when we came to the gift exchange, i handed over the stuff, and my brother responded by giving me (and my sister who was also present) naff all (not even a card). Mum decided not to come (she didn't want to see them following the way they acted (with indifference) after dad died two years ago), and they never even bothered asking after her let alone give a gift, which left me less than impressed. So to sum up, i gave presents, received zilch, and mum was vindicated in her decision to skip the shindig entirely. Gotta love family at christmas eh.

Presents wrapped, stockings hung, cards written, music on, in bed with my laptop ready for tomorrow.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone. May Santa bring you exactly what you think you deserve!

Sorry to hear that this wasn't exactly a merry family occasion for you Vermi, but well done for giving out both your time and gifts on someone who sounds like they don't necessarily deserve it (although can't blame the kid obviously!)

Family interactions can be such a difficult thing around Christmas, especially as the expectation is that we are all part of some warm and fuzzy family unit that lives and breathes on this kind of thing.

Here's hoping your Christmas Day is a great one!

Merry Christmas everyone. Have a great day and if it's not going great just leave wherever you are and give a friend a call to see if they can take you in for the day. If you don't have any friends and live in / near Surrey I will take you in for the day :)

Well at least you made the effort and tried your best, I don’t know him and can’t really say why he is like he is but obviously people react in different ways to loss and some don’t bother sending gifts (I must admit I don’t anymore, I only send cards because I know the people I send them to like receiving them) I’m sure he loves you all and appreciated your gifts and time and hope in time he makes things up with your mum, I hope you have a lovely Christmas Day

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope all your stocking are stuffed, your puddings are creamed and your brussels are sprouted!

Special wishes to those dealing with family bullshit or having a quiet one too. Hope you have a great day whatever you're up to.
