I’m going to try my hardest to join in watching Die Hard this Christmas Eve!

Purchased a 7ft tree and wicker skirt today. Some fancy paper decorations and stuff from Debenhams to go with it. John Lewis had pretty much sold out of all their Japanese theme baubles which is truly awful

Where have your Christmas songs gone? I went to listen to them just now (they’re genuinely on rotation for me around this time of the year  ) but the YouTube links aren’t working.

First time ever getting outdoor lights, the Mrs wanted 1,000 led ones and despite telling her it's too many for the front of the house we've now got them running 2 1/2 times across the front of the house  they're stupidly bright too but its got her and the boy in the festive mood so that's the main part.

Decorations going up after next weekend after the little ones birthday.

Most of the decorations are up already, Christmas tunes being played more and more :toot: Outside lights are a constant annoyance of mine though, test a set before you put them up, tested when up and now they’re not working

Also rather excited as I get 4 days off around Christmas for a change! Off Christmas Eve till the 27th, normally I’m lucky to get just Christmas Day off!

Edit, Christmas Day not Boxing Day :shifty:

I've got lights that can be used outdoors, but with the transistor in place, the plug then becomes way too big for the waterproof cover on the outdoor socket. How do you actually power them?

I run them into the garage and then into a socket there. It came with like 8m of cable so was easy to feed through and to the plug.

I make the videos private outside of December each time, so look out for them again in a few days.

I found a plug socket inside my shed and there's just enough gap in the door when locked to feed the wire through. I'll be putting them up tomorrow! My new place has a 'resients Facebook group' which is encouraging gaudy decorations on balconies and gardens for the kids to enjoy. Happy to contribute to the festivities outside as well as inside my house.

I might put the decorations up at the end of the week. Got a new tree at the start of the year.

I got these suction pads for lights on the window last year and they were total crap. I'm hoping to find better ones this year.
