I did run into him during my morning session and... I bested him first time, and then another! Image Both were around 170m mark.

I really want this, but Kinda tempted to see if a switch version gets announced. How likely is that? Was the main man for the Yakuza series not dragged on stage at the switch reveal?

Or is this likely the modern day equivalent of Battlefield on WiiU?

If you're a fan of the series then I recommend you getting this without delay. It is so very good.

Biggest disappointment for me in the last few days has been how *meh* Kiryu's 4th combat method seems to be. Everything else has been pure Yakuza.

Very unlikely that the Switch will get a version despite HD releases of 1 & 2 (also on PS3) being released on the WiiU and only in Japan. Zero/Kiwami/6 have been release/coming out for PS4 here in the UK anyway.

So why was your man on stage at the switch reveal?

As a statement to make games for the Switch. He also worked on Super Monkey Ball.

I would generally be very surprised to ever see a Switch Yakuza game with English subs.

Try being a Yakuza fan since the original release. I gave up waiting for Western ports and have imported every game since 3.

In it's debut week in Japan Yakuza 1 & 2 HD WiiU sold 2000 copies http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/08/yakuza_1_and_2_hd_reportedly_sells_less_than_2000_copies_in_debut_week

For comparison Yakuza 6 PS4 in it's opening week sold "Slightly Unsatisfactory" numbers at 218,168 http://www.dualshockers.com/2016/12/16/yakuza-6-sales-slightly-unsatisfactory-ps4-exclusive/

The creator (the guy on stage at the Switch presentation) has always said the game is build for the Japanese market exclusively so any Western port we get is a blessing.

Stick to PS4!

I'm on to the last few chapters now. Done most of what I wanted to do when it comes to side missions/diversions so I steamrollered through last few chapters. I should finish it today/tomorrow. All in all it's been yet another cracking Yakuza game.

So, in modern review terms, your heart is saying it's "good" but your head is saying it's "awful"? ;) .

Modern translation for those scores: 10 = Wait for end of year, 75% off sale. 8 = Don't even bother.

Just finished the game and I've actually revised me scores.

Heart: 10
Head: 10

It actually surpassed Y3, for me. The final chapter was just... *wow*. It lost its way a bit before hand, but the final few scenes totally made up for it with the penultimate scene getting me right in the feels, and final scene making me laugh and cheer out loud.

So hyped by that ending that... I switched off PS4 without saving :slol: I'll now have to replay the whole business end of the finale.

The game does look great, SoK, and I'd like to jump aboard once the price reduces.

How far into the game do you have to get before you can play the old Sega arcade machines? And... is it easy to reach that point?

It's practically available from the off.

When the game starts and you're first in the city, you won't have access to it as the game wants you to go down certain pathways (literally) but once the story is set, and you're free to roam about, you can head over to the SEGA Arcade ASAP and play to your heart's content! Each city (there are 2) has initially one game available, and one placed behind side mission progression with arcade attendant. (So a total of 4 arcade classics.)
