You’ll have to let them in then. I’m going to bed.

At this rate, they’ll be here at about 3am.

I sent an item via Evri on the 9th, paying for the 24h service.
On the 12th it was out for delivery. Then nothing till the 18th.
On the 18th I was told they'd tried to deliver but failed. I was given a GPS location 3 miles from where it should be, and the following "proof of attempt" picture:

I tried to raise an issue with some extra delivery instructions via the web bot chat and got nowhere. So then I tried to call them. I had to say out loud my 16 character reference, and the robocall couldn't understand my accent properly so that took about 15 minutes. Then they told me the lines were all busy and hung up.

On the 21st I was getting desperate and tried calling again with no joy, but I saw a tip on reddit suggesting that if I change to "deliver to neighbour" but set the address to where it was supposed to go it would prompt the system to attempt a redelivery.

On the afternoon of the 22nd it arrived.

8/10 would use again.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

We should activate an airtag and send it to each other via Evri to see how gooseberry fool it really is.

No, I realistically gave up by midday. There was no way they were going to shift everything in the queue before me. But I still had the annoyance that they could theoretically turn up late, so I had to be ready to answer the door.

When I get mine collected I just leave them outside the front door on the day and they just collect them. Could you do that?

Yeah, I’ve done that in the past, but not if I don’t think they’re going to turn up! And then you have to keep an eye out in case it starts to rain.

I was due a DPD delivery today, given an hour's window. I was stood outside the front of my house, taking down some Christmas lights, sorting some stuff in my car etc, saw a DPD van drive up the road, he pulled up for about ten secs and drove off. I then checked my email about ten minutes later and it said I had missed my delivery and it would be taken to a local Morrisons for me to collect on the 3rd January :x

This is actually the second time this has happened this year with DPD which is why I made sure I was outside during the delivery slot. Last time I was in the house and the doorbell never went but I had an email saying I had missed the delivery, I complained and they said the delivery drivers sat nav showed he visited my house and said there was nothing they could do :fp:

Annoyingly I should have videoed today and run up to the van and asked if he had my delivery :fp:

Earlier this month I sprinted down the road in bare feet and banged on the side of a yodel van as they had driven up and decided not to ring the bell - I’ll never understand that thought process

My belief is they are evaluated by attempted deliveries. The GPS just has to show them in the street as long as they press a button outside of the house and input a delivery attempt. That’s the gist I got from my complaint with DPD.

So Royal Mail have completely shut down all international post due to a 'Cyber incident' and are telling everyone in the UK to stop sending all post abroad. They don't know yet when they can restart it. This is really bad for anyone who sells online.
