Yesterday they sent two drivers out to me, one to deliver and one to collect. How hard is it to use the same driver that is delivering.

Companies to offer option to pre-report lost parcel if delivery assigned to Yodel

Companies who use Yodel as their delivery service will now offer customers the chance to pre-report their inevitable lost parcels.

“If a delivery is assigned to Yodel, then it is pretty much certain that package will end up left up a tree, under a motorway flyover, or on eBay,” explained Eleanor Gay, a representative for wine company Laithwaites who, bizarrely, use Yodel to deliver their wine.

“So, from Monday, as soon as a delivery is assigned to Yodel, customers will have the option to immediately report the parcel as missing and request a replacement or refund.

“There will be no need to wait for the inevitable ‘We’ve left your parcel in a bin in an industrial park six miles away’ card to come through your letterbox,’ everyone will just assume that, because it’s Yodel, that’s going to happen anyway.”

Satire, but may as well be true.

Had an interesting one today from Hermes - got back from a morning out to find a card through the door, says a package had been left by the gate. Go back out to see the guy has taken a big bit of old carpet from the skip bag we currently have on the front lawn, and put it over the package by the gate. Just the random bit of carpet on its own with what's clearly a box under it

I've now started to receive Amazon deliveries from Amazon branded electric vans and who I presume are actual Amazon employees. About time, quite frankly.

Ordered an expensive monitor arm a few weeks back, and the place (the manufacturer) said it would be 10 days extra before it shipped. No problem, I can wait. Had no order update apart from the invoice, then of course when we're just about to go away for the weekend on Saturday I get an out for delivery notification email. Again, no problem, I'll just contact the courier.

Except I can't contact the courier, because all I get is a tracking map. No contact details, no company name, no email, nothing. I left a cardboard recycling bag to the left of the front door, so the driver could maybe leave it in there if they wanted, or if they then decided to deliver to a neighbour. I heard nothing all day, then got a text and 4 missed call notifications just come through at once from hours earlier. In my email is a pdf that just says delivery failed. Again, I've got no idea which company this is, not contact details of any kind.

The manufacturer only has one of those shitty in-page contact forms thst give you no confidence anything has actually sent, so I've got no idea what's happend to my order, or if they even got my message about what am I supposed to do next.

rant over pmls xxx

I must be an exception here. I had 2 iPhones delivered within a week of each other. Each was the same driver and he was a really nice guy who made the effort to knock at the back door.

Hermes excelled themselves on Monday. A white van pulled up outside my house at around midday, bloke got out and did something at the back of the van, and then drove off again. Didn't think too much of it. At around 4pm I then received a text message from Hermes saying 'sorry we missed you' and that I needed to rebook. LIVID. At no point did this strawberry floater even come near my front door, ring the door bell, knock at the door, or drop a card through the letterbox.

Wish websites would give me a choice of delivery providers so I can actively avoid Yodel and Hermes.

Had a good one yesterday, a delivery driver turned up around 7pm, I opened the door to see someone right in my face (context) with a mask under their nose. He just handed me 3 parcels (as in just handed then straight to me), I looked at them and he pointed to the bottom one and said, "this is for next door" and then just strawberry floated off.

Next door didn't come to collect it after that, so I speculated he'd just dumped it on us as the first house to answer rather than attempt to deliver. We went around earlier to give the neighbour the parcel, and sure enough they had no idea it had been delivered, and had been in all evening.

We have a Hermes delivery man who is exceptionally well mannered and good looking. Like a more attractive Robbo The Legend. There is a post on our local Spotted page which has more than a hundred comments bigging him up

Today Royal Mail have delivered my parcel to the wrong address. I wouldn't mind much if it had been delivered to one of the neighbours, but its been delivered to someone 86 miles away!

I've had 5 runins with Yodel recently with replacement oculus straps from the oculus store and somehow I haven't had a single issue at all. Wow.

What you dont see is that if you look at the card through a microscope it says "To The" between Next and Door so technically it is totally accurate.

What the strawberry float is this gooseberry fool? Collect plus being the service whereby someone stole my ps vita, and is never use it again anyway, but what a colossal strawberry floating faff that is. I've got a sodastream gas canister to return, which has a free collect plus label - am I now expected to pre-book returning that instead of just posting it? Get strawberry floated yodel.

Anyone else get Nespresso? if you want your old pods collected Yodel no longer do it in one delivery, instead they send two couriers out, one to deliver and one to collect.
