This is what happens when you pay drivers 50p per parcel, but only when it's been delivered.

Yep. And give them 290 parcels to deliver in 8 hours

I sent a parcel out via Hermes and they had an issue finding the address so I sent them a photo of the flat and a map, a couple of days later still no delivered so I contacted and started a claim, I sent the customer out another parcel but via Royal Mail, today I get s message “success your parcel has been delivered” so I checked and yes it has been delivered but to a postcode over 7 miles away from where it should have been!

I just don't get how some of these delivery companies manage to be so gooseberry fool at finding places.

Any fool with a sat nav can find their way to the majority of addresses in the UK these days. Yes there are always going to be a percentage of places that don't show up right on sat navs or are harder to locate - but you're a delivery company, it's your strawberry floating job to find solutions to these challenges!

Ordered some Nespresso coffee from their site, mainly to get some free cups and after 10 days it still hasn't turned up. Looked at the tracking info and discovered its been delivered to the wrong address and returned to the courier several times, each time getting returned to the wrong address then back to the courier in an infinite loop.

How is this even possible.

Definitely came from Japan since I could see the tracking via DHL. Went from Japan > China > Frankfurt > Leipzig > East Midlands > Edinburgh > My House.

Pretty swift I have ordered from Amazons Italian website and it came from the UK depot and this is pretty common with Amazon.

That’s pretty impressive, I get Prime UK parcels quickly but if I use standard delivery it takes sometimes over a week

Has anyone else found that DPD don't deliver before 2pm in their area anymore unless you pay extra? Seems like this has been happening for a while now around here and it's a bit sneaky.

I think that might be the difference between DPD Local and standard DPD.

It's a bit confusing because both brands/vans are used seemingly interchangeably. But generally it depends on where you're ordering from. For trade type sites I'll generally get standard DPD but they can also use DPD Local. I think it depends on the route to you and where you're located. Basically DPD Local I think the same few couriers cover that area so if there is a "DPD Local" network set up for that you get that. It's just how they are set up to cover out-of-city areas and because it takes longer between drops they delivery later throughout the day and maybe they are shifting focus for the mornings to businesses that can afford to pay extra to get the thing they need for the working day.

Edit; just did some research and DPD Local was Interlink Express acquired by DPD Group and they do indeed focus on more local deliveries for smaller volume businesses.

It's exactly the same tracking technology and company though. Most couriers have been set up with a "pre noon" delivery option since forever and maybe they've just pushed that back to 2pm but it was always a thing.

Depending on your circumstances, if you were "lucky" DPD would normally deliver between 9 and 12pm in my experience. You might still get it earlier you can just pay for a guarantee.

DHL are the same, the business or customer can pay for tiers like 7-9pm, 9-12pm, then after that it's up to 6pm or even 8-10pm in some cases (Amazon Logistics).

I had a DPD delivery today I was delivery number 51 and they delivered at 14:40, on the app it shows you where he was delivering and he started at around 9am, I guess it just depends how far away you are from the depot and the route they take, ParcelForce are always between 11:00-12:00 here and Yodel at around 17:00

I've had 2 Yodel deliveries this week, both without incident. Real time tracking update on their website too.

I was shocked

I had a card through my door from Hermes yesterday with no customer name, no date, no time, no courier name and no contact number, just a series of random squiggles dotted around the card.

This is easily the worst missed parcel situation I’ve ever came across.

In the last week I have had 7 parcels that I have sent out with Hermes where the tracking has just stopped so it’s lost or they have sent me a e-mail saying that my parcel was badly damaged and the contents is now missing, I can make claims but it only covers up to £20 and takes 14 days,

That's so bogus.

What was in the parcels?

one of the parcels was from my private account and it was 3x bottles of ViPoo (they lost that one and sent me a email the morning telling me I am not covered, screen shoted on this message) they other items were from my business and were things for Birds and Parrots, 2 of them quite large cages that would not be very easy to lose!!!
