Well this is lovely.

Ploughed about five or six hours into it now. The levels themselves are some great 2d platforming, but the overworld's like its own Link's Awakening-like explore-a-thon. It'm spending more time exploring that world and tracking those puzzles than I am in the levels themselves, I think.

The original game suffered from being big and empty. This is tight, compact, and full of stuff everywhere. Really enjoying it.

How big is the overworld? Is it pretty significant?

There are about five areas, each with a handful of puzzles and hidden areas. I’ve unlocked about fourteen of the levels and still find myself backtracking to earlier parts of the overworld to explore and find new secrets and paths. It’s a substantial part of the game.

Apparently you can tackle the titular "Impossible Lair" level right from the start. But... in reality, you'll need to tackle the other levels first to be in with a chance of getting through the - very tough, by most accounts - Lair level.

That’s great to hear, it sounds like it’s taken a lot from Tropical Freeze (so they’re taking from the best) but also adding a lot of its’ own ideas.

Just need to decide if I want this on Switch or PS4.

So they’ve taken stuff from BotW as well!

The overworld part of the game looks like a real fresh approach to the 2D platfomer.

Went to Sainsbury’s and Argos to see if they are selling it but they do not.

Wonder why though.

Is it a boxed game? I thought it was download-only.

There's a bit in the overworld where there's broken circuits embedded in the ground and you have to move things around to make the environment change which felt very much like some of the Divine Beasts too.

I'm still mostly dicking around in the overworld. It's great fun. I like to think of the platforming levels as dungeons.

Yeah, it's available as both a download and a physical edition, Parksey.

I've caved in, was on the fence but seeing the comments on here I couldn't hold out. Got the Switch boxed version from gamecollection for 25 .
