Been searching for it in Argos but it's still up as a pre-order, if they don't have it by the end of the week I'll have to get it from either Smyths or Game.

The game collection dispatched mine in under an hour, if you need by weekend it should arrive in time.

i am loving this game right now, jut wandering round the hub world opening up areas and getting levels ready. I pretty much keep my pre order yooka 64 tonic on at all times. quite like the look of a blocky yooka laylee

Ordered it from Game Collection. It was 22 quid. Looking forward to playing it.

It sounds like they may have underestimated demand.

If this sells really well, I wonder if they go back and have another stab at a 3D platformer, this time with a bigger budget and the lessons learnt from the first attempt.

I watched the Digital Foundry comparison a couple of nights ago and it really made me want to play it! The graphics and the music are sumptuous and the mid-tier price I hope helps it sell bucket-loads.

Yeah, Sainsbury’s or Argos didn’t have it either when I went there a couple of days ago.

Game did have some copies when I bought mine.

Anyway, I’ve played two levels so far and it’s really great! Will play some more later on. :toot:

Hoping to pick this up this weekend, as above it's not stocked in Argos or Sainsburys so I'm relying on Game or the local indie.

This is really good so far. The overworld puzzles are a nice little touch. Feels like a really simple Zelda style game. Made it to the third area.

And it's nice to be playing a game that runs almost consistently at 60fps (there's only been one blip so far that I've seen, it's impressive given how they handled all the versions in house).

More developers need to concentrate on a stable framerate. I've said it like a million times, a crap framerate will age a game way more than its visual presentation.

This game is great, a significant improvement over the first Yooka-Laylee. I would love it if they incorporated some of the puzzle elements and design they have in this game into the next 3D game Playtonic produce.

I am playing this on PC but I think it would be great for Switch if I had one. It would be a great mobile game for just blasting through a few levels when you have the time.

And Argos have still got it listed as a pre-order. Sod it. I’ll buy it digital after all.

Had a few hours with this in the morning. Now at 20 odd bees. It's been a total blast so far. Love the way they handle level remixes.

I agree.

Chapter Six - Grown. It is great fun to slide on the vines and twists. :D

It’s been brilliant so far.

The Impossible Lair itself lives up to the name. I have over forty bees and can only make it about half way through at the moment. I do manage to get a little further each time though, but it is annoying having to do it all over again and again.

I attempted it at 24 bees. Reached the boss, he killed me. I was thinking I'd done well enough.

Only made it 25% of the way through. WTF

The speedrun guy beat it with no bees.

Only played the first level, but it’s doing everything right so far. My only complaint is the overworld loading time. I’m seeing a distinct Rayman influence, which is fine by me.

EDIT: Oh god, I’d forgotten about Trowzer snake. WTF were they thinking?

Tried the impossible lair once more, made it to 49% completion. It's insane.

I now have 43 bees. Think I've done all the levels. I assume I'm missing a few secret exits.

The first game was badly tainted for me by the stupidly unfair final boss sequence (and I like difficult games). Shame if they’ve carried that aspect over to this.
