Yorkshire Tea wrote:The power of tea

Picture the scene. You're facing down a boss with three heads and a hammer as big as a truck, armed with nothing but a rusty sword you looted from a guard. Gulping, you look down at the controller in your hands, wondering if victory is even possible. And you see it - the reassuring branding of your favourite tea. "Yes", you say to yourself. "I can do this".

You begin the fight and are immediately one-shotted. You're clearly way too low level for this area. On behalf of Yorkshire Tea, we would like to apologise for this and any other in-game mishaps caused by the powerful feeling of self-belief our controller will fill you with.

Designed by POPeART!

How'd this happen, eh?

This all came about because POPeART (controller designer extraordinare) tweeted us to show a design he'd come up with. We really liked it, his followers really liked it and quite a lot of ours did too, so we had a bunch of Zoom meetings and turned it from a pipe dream into an actual thing you can hold in your real, human hands.

Not an April Fool, they're actually available to buy right now...for £150: https://www.littleshopofproper.com/shop.

*Tea not included.

One day... one day... there will be a custom PlayStation PS4/PS5 controller design that makes me go "Oh man! I must get that!". Ten years later I'm still waiting for that moment.

Do they do a blue one for Decaf? That's my weapon of choice.

The PS5 controller looks much nicer than the Xbox one, imo. The red splodge (just realised it's meant to be a teapot, but only because of the art on the box) ruins it.

Who's going to pay triple the price for a controller just because it has an advert for tea on it?
It should be cheaper than an ad-free controller.

I was going to say even if it was a brand I love id only pay like £10 more than usually for it being kind of neat. I cant think of any brand or game or anything you could slap on your controller that would make me pay this.

The box says "press X to boil kettle" and so I assume this controller will make unlimited cups of tea for you.

If this was £15-20 more than a standard pad, it’s the kind of stupid thing I’d probably want. Can’t see them selling many at £150 at all though.

Depending on how many they've made, it's the kind of thing I could see increasing in value.

Have you tried their Bedtime Brew? I've got a mild addiction to it.

I'm really not a fan of their decaf offering, its dearer but the Clippers decaf is so much better in my opinion, go for a sleepy variant of Clippers too

You could well be right, I'm still not going to spend £150 on the off chance they go up in value, even then I very much doubt it'll ever be worth vastly more than the asking price.
