The games a decent length and offers some good variety in its level design. Probably a bit too much to collect for me to try and 100%, but it certainly has replay value. Overall it was better than I'd expected based on the demo. I'd probably score it an 8/10

I saw a lot of people slagging the game off on the basis of the demo., saying it was too slow and easy. It was never going to be Donkey Kong or Celeste, but... it was the first level! What did they expect? A timed egg-throwing gallery as the level around them collapses into the lava and fecking zombies eat Yoshi’s legs?

That's true. I guess I hadn't appreciated the demo was literally the first level and in truth not a great representation of the games qualities. I'm glad I didn't let that put me off and would encourage others who felt similarly about the demo to not dismiss this entirely.

Just completed the Go Go Yoshi level and that was a bit of a challenge to get all the flowers, but bar that it's you typical Yoshi game but with a love Tearaway art style. Love it.

Also game with number 1 in the UK game sales last week, which surprised me.

The only issue I have is the multiple times you have to go back in to levels to find things. Apart from that its getting better and better

Played a bit of this yesterday and it's really not floating my boat. Dunno whether the likes of Odyssey and Astrobot have given me unreasonable expectations of platformers but this just seems so average. Going to give it a rest for a while and maybe come back to it.

Yes, the first level is really slow (as Fry mentioned above), but the variety and level designs kicks in not long after. It’s never going to be Odyssey or Celeste (no idea what Astrobot is), but it does seem to be blossoming into a good, if easy, game.

That said, if the first level didn’t make your face burst into a grin then maybe it’s not for you. The game itself improves, but if anything’s going to elevate it from ‘decent’ to ‘good’ or even ‘great’, it’s the fact that it’s full of sweetness and joy.

I played through the first 3 levels and I'm usually very receptive to twee games but I don't know what it is. I've played a fair number of platformers on Switch recently, things like Wandersong and Yoku, and they have all tried to do something different whereas this seems very formulaic and an old formula that has been improved on significantly in recent years. Particularly the comparison to Tearaway seems wrong, aside from the art style, Tearaway is a considerably better game.

Gone back to playing Darkest Dungeon, maybe that fits the kind of mood I'm in at the moment.

So the reviews generally are positive, but £42 on cartridge or £49.99 digital?

I can't justify that kind of price when great stuff like Celeste is £17.99 on the estore. :(

If this was £30 I'd still consider that expensive but would probably stretch to it.

I bought this mostly for co-op to play with my wife but it turns out the co-op is pretty gooseberry fool. You constantly end up accidentally swallowing each other and losing your eggs or jumping on each other's backs. Probably should have read some reviews first!

That’s exactly what I’m hoping for.

I’ve just reached the ghost house in the carnival world. It’s excellent. Honestly at this point it feels like it could come from a substantially better game... It’s just so good.

The music is still ear-gratingly awful though. The level before that... ouch.

Going to have to get this at some point, little’un loved watching the last one and goes “daddy daddy yoshi yoshi, you should play this now” whenever she sees the advert or the game in a shop...

The music in Wooly World was a bit underwhelming as well. I think the same guy from Epic Yarn was involved, I expected it to be about the same in terms of quality (the soundtrack to that game is awesome).

I didn't have a problem with the music in general for Woolly World, this game's music is nice, but it's just to mellow.

Anyone know where the snake pot is in deceptive doors?
