Will watch the trailer later, excited.

It's Nintendo's first game using the engine.

Easier development, consistency across Switch, PS4, XBO, PC...

...the games look frikkin' gorgeous!

Alright Ninty, the ‘charming’ ‘whimsical’ slightly off-key woodwind is just irritating now. Enough of that.

Is it just me or does the Mario universe have far too many wish-granting artefacts for its own good? I’m surprised it hasn’t dissolved into all-out wish-powered war by now.

Only according to Legend

From that trailer all we can canonically say about the Sundream Stone is that it has the power to change expression and self-destruct

Game looking neat

Story-wise, this looks to be pretty much identical to Wooly World - which is fine as it's all about the gameplay and aesthetic, but I'd appreciate if that same level of creativity lent itself to the story, craft puns and all.

May pick this up a little after launch as opposed to day one, confident that it can surpass Wooly World.

Thought it wouldn't be too far off as the game was listed on the Switch's E-Shop over the Christmas period.
Glad too see it's not too long to wait.

Graphics look so-so to me. Not awful, but nor do I think that they're the cutest thing ever. (Was there a Yoshi yarn game? Now that was bastard adorable.) Instead I'm far more impressed with how the game world works, namely the various ways in which you can flip the perspective and whatnot.

Wooly World was the best Yoshi's Island game in years. I hope this is bit better, and gets rid of the technical gremlins involved in the previous game.

March 29th...... Brexit day. :dread:

I guess we need something charming and whimsical to distract us from the British apocalypse happening outside.

That last trailer propelled this from ‘interesting idea’ to ‘something special’ for me.

Also: should have released it a few weeks later, next to Easter. Rookie error, Nintendo. Rookie error.

Played the demo this morning and it a lovely looking game and the music is so whimsical. Can't wait till it comes out.

I just had a little go of the demo. It looks gorgeous, and it's overflowing with charm. The music is a bit twee, but I'll hold off judgement until I hear more.

I'm not huge on the controls, though. Movement feels a bit slow and stilted. I think I'd prefer if it handled a bit more like Yoshi's Island. The egg cursor moves rather slowly as well, which feels like a problem in a game so focused on it.

Flutter jumps can be used almost indefinitely with the right timing, which suggests some interesting secret areas later in the game.

Is it possible yet to delete demos from your switch gamer profile without deleting the entire profile and playtime from other games?

I played through the demo last night and this is actually really nice, it's now a definite maybe for me rather than an unlikely purchase. Simple as anything, but inventive and with actual (literal) depth.

What profile do you mean? The list of games that you have played with playtimes? I think you can hide individual games from it (not sure on that), but otherwise its a 20 long list so gets rotated out eventually anyway.

I played the demo last night and thought this was fine. Graphically it looked nice and cute, but gameplay wise seemed pretty basic. Pass.

Played the demo. Pretty easy as expected but looks like there will be plenty of replayability with the levels. Replaying the levels and finding secrets will be a lot of fun.

Presentation was lovely. The style and music, everything went together really well.

Looking forward to it next month.

Yeah, that one. I only have 6 games and I don't want a demo shitting my profile up. It's the sole reason I don't download demos.
